Questions & Answers

"10 gauge wire," reads the product description. Although the product description says "1/8 inch wire," the product description actually says "1/16 inch wire," which is half the thickness. Is it one of these?

The diameter of the sample we have is 1/8".

Is this wire stiff and holds its shape well? This will be used as a support and a headpiece in a cosplay I'm working on. ?

Because it is made of aluminum, it is extremely flexible and bends easily. However, keep in mind that this has an impact on the amount of weight it can support and how easily it deforms! Home Depot does have a 14-inch x 14-inch x 14-inch x 14- I hope this information is helpful. Gauge Galvanized Steel Wire is bendable and stiff, and will hold its shape better than armature wire.

Is this the right gauge for making a crown? To make a Greek crown, I'll wrap laurel leaves around wire. ?

Yes, this wire would be ideal for the job. It's easy to bend with your hands while still maintaining its shape. The leaves will be able to wrap themselves around the wire with ease.

Is this something that could be used to make spiral-bound journals?

If you want to go for a rustic or artistic look, Non-toxic paint is the way to go. Without a doubt, commercial. However, if you're going to be making a lot of journals, this isn't the best option. They're perfect for what I'm using them for
5/5

This isn't going to hold up in a larger project. They support a small amount of weight. It is not possible to use them as a makeshift stand. At the moment, I'm working on an owl sculture. The wires are strong enough to keep the wing span at 12 inches on each side. I tried to make a solid skeleton for the bird out of the wires, but it didn't work out. That isn't going to work. If you're working on a larger project, you'll need a stronger, firmer wire. br>br>In the photo, you can see one side of the wing and the base for which I attempted to use this wiring. It began to fall over after the other wing was completed. The wings, on the other hand, remained at that height. As a result, it's a high-quality wire. Isn't it just that your creation isn't worthy of a base or maybe I just needed a little more wirebr>br>oh. The wire is pliable and easy to work with.

Sculpting is a breeze with this material
5/5

This wire is ideal for sculpting because it is easy to manipulate. This is what I use for my larger sculpts (mostly figures), with floral wire wrapped around the skeleton to help the clay stay in place. This was a fantastic find for me because I don't live in an area where armature wire is easily available in an art store. People have complained about the wire being too soft in some reviews I've read. That is very much dependent on the application. As I previously stated, I use it to sculpt. When I have the basic form down, I begin throwing clay on it, which reinforces the desired form. However, asking too much of this material by using it as the foundation for a costume may be asking too much of it. If it's going to be the only support for a structure, I'd go with something a little more durable.

It meets my requirements
5/5

It all starts with a long, thin piece of soft wire. It is rolled into a coil after being folded in half. It's what I use to make drawing mockups. It has the advantage of being reusable, allowing me to make adjustments to whatever creature I've outlined with the wire; however, because it is easily manipulated, it will lose its shape if heavy fabric is draped over it without proper inner support; and it is lightweight, allowing me to easily roll it back up when I'm finished with a piece. In the illustration, the crimp is the bent piece in the middle of the hole. With a little patience, you can straighten it out. However, because I am not a professional sculptor, this may be an inconvenience to professionals and students looking for a finer, flatter sculpture.

It was well worth the money
5/5

He assisted me in creating the best Halloween prop I'd ever seen. This stuff was ordered so that I could make some cheap barbed wire to wrap around a baseball bat for my Halloween costume this year. After purchasing some fake barbed wire (due to a misleading picture on the seller's website) and becoming dissatisfied with the sad shoe string look, I scoured the internet for different ways to make fake barbed wire, ranging from dipping strings in grey paint/watered down glue compound to considering just buying some real barbed wire, as this is only for Halloween and not a convention prop. Unfortunately, real barbed wire is expensive, and just as I was about to give up, I came across this product. Naturally, I decided to give this product and seller a chance because the picture clearly shows what you will receive, the description is easy to understand, and I could get it quickly thanks to Prime. The way I figured it, I could cut this stuff up, twist the longer pieces, and then bend the smaller pieces around the longer ones to make a more realistic looking barbed wire. br>br> $2 is the price of this item. 00 less than the Beistle fake barbed wire (glorified shoestring) I had previously purchased. br>br>I'd buy this stuff again in a heartbeat, especially if I were making clay sculptures, as the material is quite durable. But if you're on the fence, and you need this product for the same reason I did, I'd recommend it. It comes highly recommended from me! The finished product can be seen in the attached photo.

This is ideal for crafts! I expected the wire to be a little softer, but it worked well for my craft project and I would order it again
4/5

It is bent halfway through, as stated in other reviews, so keep that in mind when considering it for any projects.

Good product, but with an annoyance crimp and a hefty price tag
3/5

The wire used for the armature is of excellent quality. It's pliable and soft, just like armature wire should be. However, as mentioned in another review, the way the spool is folded is extremely irritating. I also don't understand why the teeny, flat spool has to be sent in a massively oversized box at such a high cost of shipping. br>Check out ebay or one of the many reputable sculpting supply shops. For a much lower price, you can get much larger spools of high-quality wire that are wound correctly.

This was very useful for my needs
4/5

I'd like to reiterate what has been said in previous reviews: This wire is available in two different lengths, each of which is ten feet long. ft coils rather than a continuous 20-foot length ft one. I used it to make a witch hat frame for one of my cosplays, and it turned out pretty well. When it comes to sculpting, it's very soft, but it keeps its shape well. It's also quite light, which was helpful given that the entire 20 feet of wire ended up on my head.

This is a lot more adaptable than it appears

I was trying to use it to frame a paper mache project, but I think I'll stick with wire hangers now. br>I gave it three stars instead of one because it's great for jewelry projects!.
