Selected User Reviews For Alumilite Rubber to Rubber mold release
The mold release is clear and can be applied easily with a brush. As you can see, the bottle is only half full, which is deceptive. I believe the bottle should be completely full as soon as you purchase it in order not to mislead people.
This tool was easy to use and helped me separate my rubber part from the mold very well. It was substantially more difficult to separate the part from the mold on one casting since I forgot to use it.
It was my hope to find a 2-part molded version of this product. In my experience, you need to put on at least 2 coats with this product (and adding more coats than the 1st attempt) so I would not recommend it. This company sent me the product overseas, so if you're within reach of aerosols, try those instead. You can use a sharp razor blade to separate the thing on your own (I had to do it that way), or you can use Vaseline, it works too.
We were quite pleased with how well it prevented the silicone halves from forming a seal. It was a bit of a worry I wouldn't have enough, since it's only 1 ounce, but I had enough for my project. My surface area was about 9" x 15", and after three generous coats, there was still about 25% of the fluid remaining.
When I received the first bottle in the mail, the bottle existed a crack and the solution was leaking all over the sent a second one, and it was the same as the first. When I opened the package, I saw that the bottle was cracked, and solution was leaking into the package all over.
I recommend this. The price is one seventh of the price, and the product works.
I like how it works.
The Alumilite Quick-Step adapter works perfectly with this This is set. In my case, I applied three coats following the instructions, but the part that has to stick together would not.
