Questions & Answers

Can it be used with various v-shaped cartridges ?

As far as I know, Logan has 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 inch v-shaped tubes If you can't find a nail that fits, try a different size.

Can Ontario residents take advantage of the free shipping offer?

I appreciate you reaching out to me, Dave. Thanks for the inquiry, Karen, but we do not ship to Canada from Amazon. Thank you, Blick Art Materials.

Is it possible for it to be delivered ?

When ordering from Framersisland, you should be able to do so. Check to see if the amazon system will allow shipping to your location by adding it to your cart and moving on to the checkout process. I appreciate it.

How well would this technique work on thicker pieces of wood, such as a shadow box for butterflies?

Thank you for your time. I am from Uruguay, South America, and my English is If the depth of the box is right (or the thickness of the frame is right), then the Logan joiner could work. If you splice two pieces of wood together using a 10 mm V nail, you can t join them if they are more than 18 mm thick. The Logan sales office might be able to help you.

I am not sure what the problem is
4/5

Initially, I was very hesitant to order this book based on some of the bad reviews, but there were a lot of positive reviews mixed in that sounded like they were written by more experienced authors. In the instructions you can find everything you need, it takes less than 5 minutes to open, take out the box, and get it ready to use. Since I don't make frames for a living, I would upgrade if I were to use this all day long for work. About once or twice a year, I make some frames. There's no nail gun finishing anymore. I've made two frames so far today, a 16x24 and a 24x14. There was not one bad nail in the whole thing. It wasn't my fault that I put two left sides together on the 16x24 when I wasn't paying attention. You'll have no problem repairing things if you've been working with tools and like working on your own. IKEA anything will do, if you know how to assemble it. I understand that the experience might not be for you if you possess no tools at all and are trying to assemble this on your apartment deck folding table. Honestly, I am not bothered by the fact that it is open-source software.

The cost of ownership is recouped
4/5

The artwork I sell at festivals is my own. The fact that I rarely venture above 20"x16" led me to pick up the smaller Molding Joiner when I realized buying frames was eating into my profit margin. I can tell you that once I built my first few frames, I found it easier and easier to do it. What you gain in profit might cost you in time, but I was able to build them automatically afterward. In particular, I've found that sometimes I need to use wood filler before staining to cover small gaps in my corners, but overall, this Joiner has done an excellent job for me. My frames used to cost $50 a piece and now cost only $10, thanks to this deal. A 15-dollar bill. With larger frames, the construction can be awkward, since you are required to use the small blocks to reinforce the corners you have already joined when you are trying to keep the joint that you are attempting to fix in the right position. In addition, the joiner has already paid for itself a few times over, so it is hard not to recommend it. Getting rid of frames that drain profit margins is a great first tool if you're sick of losing money on frames.

The system almost works As this was the first time I have ever used such a tool, it worked after I followed the instructions, but there were a couple of issues that aren't too big of a deal, but could be addressed There is some improvement that can be made to the "Molding Spacer" as it only elevates the Corner Clamp up by 3/4" so the moldings do not touch the base
5/5

So once you press your first key, you'll find out By nailing into it, the miter edges of the molding will bend downward because the underside of the molding has no support. It is advisable to use a small rubber pad to support the pressure point. Although there are only two "Levelers" included, it is necessary to use a third one on large frames to prevent any bending at the In order to complete my picture frame that was 64" x 42", I had to make a metal frame from a piece of metal The shift leveler for the far end, and a piece of rubber to protect the molding and also provide support for the V-shaped piping, is all I used instead of the spacers Nail polish. I was able to get everything to work after I had done that. The large frame was a straight rectangle once it was finished, and it was solid. I believe that this tool is worth the money, since it could use a few improvements, but it makes it possible to get.

Enjoys a tedious task and makes it simple for you
5/5

Oh my God! The best purchase I have ever made - you can't go wrong with this one This was one I had to talk myself into before I realized the reality and I made the choice If I was going to make picture frames, I knew I had to have this material. The setup and use of this device are very easy By setting the "V's" with the handle, enough leverage was provided so that the entire process was easy. A soft section is one that- I have no idea ). Sometimes I end up setting 2 V's instead of 1 or 2 for the same reason - it is After the glue had dried, 12 frames were joined together in a little more than two hours. There were a few V's that didn't set all the way down and It was the glue that joined the frames, not the person who glued them together in the first Those are my words.

I also had the same problems as other customers who have complained about the product. In practice, I've found this to be a good product. Don't expect perfect corners right off the bat - it will take some time. You have to practice. The most common complaint is that as you press the V-shaped button, it goes down A gap remains between the front and the back of each nail, because the back is spreading out. A simple fix is available for the problem. It's due to the lack of support under the frame. You can make this corner joint by using two pieces of the same scrap frame material, but make it backwards. So when you put the front corner underneath your frame corner you have a corner with a mirror image contour that can be used to provide support no matter where your frame corner is located An edge. With this method, I rarely need to make use of the support bracket that comes with my You should also check that your saw is calibrated correctly Carpenter's square should be used to carefully check the miter angle of the saw, which must be 90 degrees vertical and 45 degrees horizontal. I need to make sure it's perfect these corners are so important Angle errors of a very small degree are easily detected. If you do not align the joints, no matter how good you are at using the jointer, you will get gaps between joints. Make sure that your saw is not always calibrated. Using it causes it to drift. Make sure you look it over Each time I check mine, I go through it for 50 seconds Then, as Logan suggested, stain the edges of the joints with wood stain after making 75 cuts. Errors in the joints are covered by it. A stain pen is what I use The stain does not have to be opened every time I want to join a corner, and it is easy to use. The joiner has been in my possession for about 6 months now Getting good joints is not a problem for me.
