The mat and backing are actually one piece, with a slit on one end for your 8x10 print to be inserted. The overall thickness is 1.25 inches, as stated in the features and specifications. 1/16" = 4mm These mats are fantastic, and they make installation a breeze.
We don't have any slip-in mats in this size.

The only complaint I have about these mats is how tight they are. The photo will stay put once it's in place! The issue is putting them in the right place. It was a tight fit from opening them just enough to get the photo started to sliding it into place. I'm a patient person who takes her time and doesn't feel rushed when it comes to getting the images matted. To'slip-up,' it takes me at least an hour. 20 5x7 photographs were inserted into 8x10 mats. br>br>I'd give them a one or two star rating based on my frustration with them, but that would be unjust. I just wish they would leave a fraction of an inch more space to slip the prints in because they are of good quality and worth the effort.
" Simple to Work With - The mat contains NO ADHESIVE. Only the bag has a sticky part, which I don't use, but the prints appear to stay in place. The mats are my favorite part of the room. To easily slide photos, use latex/rubber gloves.
I ordered 20 boxes, and they all arrived in good condition with no crushed corners. I did have an issue with a few being overly glued, and the final plastic bag retained all of the pack's wrinkles- As a result, one bag in every box was wonky and wrinkled. But, overall, they've performed admirably, and I'm excited to use them again for future projects and clients.
I'm putting them in mats to give to my portrait clients as gifts. I hadn't even considered looking on Amazon before receiving these, but I was pleasantly surprised. These are not only inexpensive, but the quality is comparable to similar items I've purchased from high-end photography labs. I was ecstatic to send these to my customers; I'm all set to go shopping now! They're absolutely fantastic.
For years, we've used these to mat our photographs professionally. Our photos are presented beautifully and are simple to use.
They have a polished appearance and are simple to operate. They ARE tight, as others have mentioned, but I've found that if I run a piece of cardboard down the sides to loosen them up a little before putting my paintings in, they go in easier and stay put. My only problem is that they are currently out of stock, and I am unable to purchase more!.
The mat was of high quality, in my opinion. My 8x10, on the other hand, would not fit well and would be difficult to slip in. Regrettably, I had to return them. The look and concept were appealing, but they did not appeal to me.
These mats are gorgeous, but holy smokes, they're tight. I bent a few prints in an attempt to fit them in. This product has completely let me down.
