1/16" thicker than mat board
Yes, this mat frame, like all of our others, has a bevel edge opening. In addition, if there is a straight cut, you must flip it to the opposite side because we pack them facing each other. Thanks!

My matts were double-boxed with protective cardboard around them in the inner box, so I'm guessing they changed their packaging. Mine would almost certainly not be harmed in any way.
My daughter is a professional artist, and she always frames her prints with this brand of mat. These aren't the best, but they're good enough, and they're a great deal. She makes her own mats for her original paintings. Prints, on the other hand, are much more cost effective when attached to a nice pre-made frame. cut mat. Because she has the backing board and plastic wraps, she can stack a lot of prints in a couple of racks at her shows and have people look through them without damaging or dirtying them. This is ideal for her requirements.
I'm a wildlife and nature photographer who produces and sells fine art prints of my work, so I recently ordered three different mat sets. br>The first, a set of ten white 16x20 mats, arrived in perfect condition - They were nicely packaged in a custom-made box that kept them from moving around during shipping while providing more than adequate protection, and the mats and backing boards were cut precisely. I would give a five-star rating if that was the case with ALL of these sets. However, this was not the case with the two most recent 25-set-pack orders. br>The first of these two 25-piece set orders arrived with a small dent in one corner. This larger quantity pack's packaging was not as good as the previous ten-piece pack's. Because the box was missing its inner protection, one corner was slightly damaged. Mishandling during shipping is most likely to blame, so it's not entirely the vendor's fault. Perhaps the issue would not arise if the packaging included the same internal protection measures as the 10 piece packs, and the rating would be raised to 5 stars once more. br>However, my most recent order of a pack of 25 sets was a complete failure on the part of the manufacturer. The mats and backing boards were removed- The previous sets were square and did not match up perfectly. Unfortunately, it wasn't until the fifth or sixth set that I realized there was a problem. Before the issue became apparent, I had already assembled several of the sets and mounted prints in them, and the error became increasingly apparent with each subsequent board. The bottom and one of the side edges did not match up exactly after being properly assembled with hinging tape along the top edges. Normally, this wouldn't be an issue if I was just using them for artwork that I produce for display in my own home because I could hide the error behind a frame, but these were used for artwork that I produced for an upcoming art/craft show in which I have a vendor slot (which happens to be tomorrow), and as a result, the issue with the boards/mats causes a reduction in the quality of my finished product - It wouldn't be a big deal if I were framing the prints with these mats/boards, but I'm not framing them; these are matted prints that my clients can frame themselves. This draws their attention to the error, and as a result, I'll almost certainly have to lower my prices to accommodate an issue that isn't my responsibility. br>Had I realized sooner rather than later - rather than halfway through mounting several prints - which can't be unmounted without damaging the prints, and if I'd had enough time to return these for replacement, I wouldn't have been as disappointed with the most recent order. Golden State is a state in the United States of America. I'd like to buy your products again in the future because they save me so much time, but if this is the standard, I'll be disappointed. I guess I'll have to find a different source for my matting needs because of inadequate packaging, uncertainty about the quality of a specific batch of your products, and obviously the lackadaisical approach to quality control that appears to be occurring within your organization.
These are something I would buy again. For a upcoming show, I needed to mat a lot of 11x14 photos, and these Golden State Art pre-cut mats were perfect. The cut mats worked out beautifully. When potential clients shuffle through them, they have sleeves to keep them clean. br>br>I deducted a star because 1) one of the backings was slightly damaged but still usable, and 2) the tight plastic wrapping around the mats and backings was perhaps a little too tight, resulting in a few minor dents along one edge. This isn't a deal breaker in my opinion. The box they arrived in (rather than the shipping box) is nice and secure, and I can use it to transport my prints to the show, which is a plus. br>br>Another inconsistency is that the backings are about 1/64 longer than the mats, which isn't a deal breaker. Lining them up to split the difference was unnoticeable, unless you're someone like me who sees the world in 1/72-inch increments from measuring type.
They did an excellent job of shipping it! When I say beautifully, I mean: Inside the Amazon box, it came in its own box, then each grouping of materials (bags vs. Contrary to popular belief, backings are a type of material that is used to support a The front matting) was packaged separately inside, and the corners are immaculate. I am very pleased! Only one thing remains to be done: br>br> I'm wondering if the bags will hold the thickness of my art and the matting. In any case, as soon as I learn more, I'll update this post. br>br>I'll be placing another order with them. In fact, I ordered multiple sizes from them this time (8x10, 11x14, and 16x20), all of which were perfect when I opened them. (I need to test the bags)br>I will order from them again without hesitation. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> The bags are far superior to anything I've used previously!.
However, I am no longer able to do so because the mats' white color has been changed by the supplier/manufacturer. They aren't a shady character. All of a sudden, white has taken on a cream hue! I re-evaluated the situation, assuming it was a fluke. The mats were ordered, only to discover the same problem! My product, which requires a true, clean white mat, is completely ruined! It's a pity, because I really depended on these WHITE mats, which are now CREAM. I'm disappointed, and I'll have to look for a new resource for my company because these are no longer acceptable. Furthermore, the clear presentation bags frequently arrive crinkled and a shambles, necessitating my sourcing of replacements from a different supplier to use with these mats. I'm not going to miss the headaches at all! For anyone who buys these, it could be a blessing in disguise!.
There were no dents in the package because it was extremely well packaged. The mats, clear cellophane sleeves, and white backing boards for framing were all included in the order, which exceeded my expectations. I went with the white. I liked that it was a true white without any cream or yellow undertones. This seller is someone I would buy from again.
