If you take care of it, you shouldn't have to wash it. I don't know what the manufacturer recommends, but I wouldn't put it in the washing machine. In case of spills, just blot it with a damp cloth.

This is a high-quality product. I ordered 12 x 12, but it ended up being 11 x 11. It was so small compared to what I had expected. As a smaller sheet, I wanted it to match with the 12 x 12 vinyl sheet. The quality is pretty good when it comes to the product.
I highly recommend this product. It is much more affordable than the Cricut version, but it seems very durable! The size and the flatness of the dish are both great. I find this method much more effective than using a towel.
Making things with this mat is great while you are heating the iron on vinyl. In addition to shirts and bags, I have used it several times.
This is a must-have if you have a heat press! I press vinyl on to the mat before pressing the shirt onto it. This way, I avoid problems when shirts have pockets and the The only issue I have is that the mat measures 11 inches by 14 inches. Instead of 12 inches, 5 inches square would be more appropriate. My floor is 12 inches square, so I need a mat like this. While I'm aware that some people have commented on the smell, mine arrived brand new and there was no smell. It has been my mat of choice for over 200 press runs with no issues. After use, I let the mat sit for about 24 hours before putting it.
You get a lot for your money with this program. The Cricut brand is more expensive than this and does the same thing by preventing the heat from leaking through the underside onto the table or from melting the vinyl on the backside of the jersey/t-shirt. The only thing I would change is to get one that's a little larger.
