Using that blade is extremely dangerous, so you should open the package carefully and replace the blade with extreme caution.

Questions & Answers

What is the maximum number of sheets it can cut at once?

I am here to help. The cutter is rated to cut 400 sheets in a single pass however, depending on the weight of the paper, the cutting speed will vary. Videos of it cutting through a phone book with ease can be found on YouTube. Sincerely, HFS

If I need to cut the top left corner of the stack papers so I can remove the staple, is it a good option?

Sure, I can do it! Just a word of caution, be sure not to cut the staple with this made the mistake of doing this myself and left a gouge in my blade which severely damages it and leaves a scar for every subsequent cut until I have it sharpened

Is it possible to SEE where the blade touches the paper, or do you have to rely solely on the grid to determine where the blade is placed?

The part of the blade that contacts the paper can be seen. When you feel where the blade will land on the page, you have to drop the handle a bit. Getting the hang of it makes it possible for you to make very precise cuts. the paper to be cut has crop marks, you can accurately align the paper to those marks. I find it to be very good, though it isn't perfect. Putting in the paper, pulling down the handle a bit so you can see where the blade will land, and adjusting the paper until it fits straight, before snugging down the paper clamp so the paper cannot move, and finally checking where the blade will land again before making

Do you know if it's strong enough to cut plastic films or sheets that are quite thin? It can be used as privacy films or polarizer sheets that are less than 1 mm thick. ?

(I've been using it for over a year now to cut wood veneer at 1/30 inch thick).

I have found that this is the best cutter for the price! As long as you use it properly, it will last

You can shop high quantity paper cutters for the best deal that you will ever find. Four months ago, we bought the 17" cutter for the office so that we could chop large quantities of flyers, trim book bindings, etc. The cutter also allows us to crop the white print border from 11" x 17" posters and flyers. It was mentioned that the directions were difficult to follow, but I found the directions to be simple to follow. As it turned out, it wasn't that hard at all. With the savings in labor and ease of use we have paid for this cutter several times over. I have cut as many sheets as fit under the gate clamp and it cuts them with perfect accuracy like butter (a This cutting block seems like a solid product with a good surface to cut against, as it's easy to rotate as needed. It also seems like a nice quality product, as it's built very solidly. The unit is also rather large and takes up a good deal If you do not know the size of the output you want, first measure the desired output and then set the slider to that size. When you are ready to cut, you lower the gate to hold the paper in place. In the event that you were just trying to line up paper visually, this product would be difficult to use. Just measure first and you will be fine. There is a large lever that provides a large amount of torque, and the lever comes off to make storage and safety easier. Here are a few of the not so good things As far as negatives go, I can only mention that you have to be careful not to damage the safety pin and the blade if you use this product. As the lift lever was for an office, some coworkers did not realize you had to hold down the safety button and press it when pulling it A safety pin that was welded to the lever arm ended up being bent and damaged as a result. The pin bent back, and after a couple more attempts to press down the button, the pin finally came out all the way. Despite the fact that not having a safety pin is much more dangerous, it is nice to no longer have to worry about the button. In addition to the blade itself, we have experienced other problems. During my office's lunch break, another employee was using the device to cut off the metal spiral binding on a book and she did not line it up correctly. It was afterward that he realized that the metal binding was in the way, creating nicks all the way down half of the blade, leaving the tool almost useless for use in the future. As I could not find anyone who could evenly sharpen a blade that large locally, I took it to our shop to do it. Even though they have brought it back down to 90%, the middle of the blade doesn't cut the last two inches of the blade anymore A smaller job may need only three sheets (which is cumbersome). There is no sense in worrying about this, since a new blade from Hardware Factory costs about 30 bucks. A GENERAL OVERVIEW There is no better way to spend your money!

*****UPDATE 12/4/2017******It has been about 7 to 8 months since we bought this item and unfortunately it's losing one The other day, our lift gate handle seized. We use this product quite seldom, but the other day I faced the same problem. My cleaning solution of choice was WD-40 because it removed all metal shavings and grease With the crank handle turned back and forth, I used a hammer to tap the bolt with the It took the nut a couple of minutes to work its way back into the threads properly, just as I was about to cut my losses. I don't think the damaged bolt threads are causing any further problems, and the crank is moving freely once I'm going to contact Customer Service about this problem since it seems to be a warranty issue. Because this seems more the fault of the product than anything else in the review, I've edited it as such. It would be wise for those who purchase this product to periodically keep up with cleaning any gunk or metal shavings that get built up in the grease on the crank bolt as well as to beware of overtightening.

The strength is there, but it needs improvement

We have gone from a 1 star to a 4. The pros are Is able to cut through 24lb of steel with no trouble I can use 20lb paper, card stock and various thicknesses of chipboards without a problem. I have never heard of writing on card stock, but I have no problems cutting through it. Likewise, I had no problem tearing through short stacks of paper, like five letters even if they weren't too large The pieces are 10 each. Tip to keep in mind when attempting to consume a full stack of work It will help if your red strip is wearing out if you put a few scrap pieces of paper on the bottom of your stack under the cut (I didn't have to). If you're planning to make short stacks, never cut the Unfortunately, it is not going to happen (but I am hungry now The cons are It is easy for the black cheap plastic fence to move around. Keeping a straight line is difficult and time consuming This is correct. While tightening it, I use a square in order to help hold it in place. Every time you cut the footage, you have to watch it to make sure that it doesn't A big pet peeve that I didn't notice on day one was that the press was not level with the ground! You get "wrinkles" on your paper while cutting or it indentifies the fence as you are cutting. This causes the cut to not be square or straight! That's so frustrating! They either did not adjust it properly or did not design it If it was to grab all the paper with the same force, it would have to come down to a level As a result, it does not work. Lots of people complain about their papers wrinkling and being tattered So it goes. The problem seems to be the same. I took this picture to show that it is uneven. All eight of the 8-foot boats are shown in the left hand side of the photo In particular, paper that measures half an inch wide and an inch and a half tall must be even. The idea is too large to send back (it's a huge machine). To see if it can be adjusted, I will check with the manufacturer, or I will I have to make precise cuts very carefully or else I have to switch brands. *UPDATE My apologies, they do provide instructions on how to adjust the press level on their website. The last time I checked there was before I posted It turned out that the screw on the handle was welded incorrectly, but that's another story. However, I managed to adjust the level of the press so it holds the paper In order to keep the paper from moving, I have to slowly lower the whole thing A solution to this problem has occurred to me I will try it and let you know how it goes. ALL of this could have been prevented if only some type of legislation had been in place. You can choose any type of When using my cutter I tried to cut instructions or paper, but none were cut! At the very least, provide instructions for your web address in your cutter box, HFS!.

Buy only if you absolutely have to! This was used by our bookbinders to clean up the edges of the text block after binding

One of them failed to work. Although the blade and the red guard thing have been replaced, the tool still does not A bend in the metal or something in the machinery made it impossible to fully push the blade down all the way. So we decided it would be better to purchase a new one and occasionally use it if necessary For a majority of our books, we used the deckled edge instead of the paper cutter, and only used it for cutting custom jobs. This has been used a total of five times and is already repeating itself. When I say this, I mean it. Do not waste your money on it. do not offer assistance when it comes to troubleshooting problems and the product is not worth the money if it breaks after just a few uses.

The company's nbsp I want to buy the document cutter as seen in the picture. It is a brand new heavy duty guillotine paper cutter with a 17" blade. I was able to use the blade efficiently at the beginning, but later I found there was a difference between the left and right side of the blade, so I was unable to reach the bottom. I don't know what to do, so what do As far as I am aware, I was unable to find anyone to help me with this problem. I call the factory and it redirects to the website, sending me to the contact email address Despite the fact that the website provides an incorrect email address, I cannot return the tool due to its weight. The shipping cost of this tool is more expensive than the shipping cost of Due to this, i would like to have my problem resolved by you
Thank you.
