After it has dried, I believe you should go over it with some light sandpaper.
I haven't decided yet. More instructions should be available on the internet, I believe. I plan on using it to make small dog figurines, so I'm hoping you can as well.

Selected User Reviews For AMACO Claycrete Papier Mache, 1 lb. Bag
This material is half of a recipe for porcelain perfect clay that an amazing older friend uses. The finished papier mache is sleek and fun to play with when made according to the instructions. To me, the most incredible thing is The way the dry, recycled pulp is prepared for papier mache makes it look like cotton and feel like a cloud. Super light, flawlessly blended, and dried into a foundation you'll love - I enjoy using it.
With the help of a fan, it dries quickly. My 12-year-old daughter had no trouble using it on top of an armature. The material dries quickly.
This papier mache mixture is exceptionally fine, light, and absorbent. It produces a clay with a very consistent texture. Maybe I should have kneaded it a little longer or used less water and worked harder to distribute it. My piece took days to dry due to its absorbency versus the volume of water used. In the past, I've used grey celluclay and found it to be easier to avoid overwatering. I'll finish up this brand for my molds and see if I can get a better ratio. If that's the case, I'll most likely use it again. I'm hoping there won't be any more issues.
Even when more water was added, it only made it wetter, not stickier.
To form shapes with these pieces, I suppose you have to be a serious artist. With the mold form, everything is in order. However, I believe it is not worth the money. When I'm working with kids, I prefer to use non-ink newspaper type paper.
There are numerous applications for this product. I'm going to buy more. One of the negative reviews caught me off guard because the person misunderstood the item (i. e. I didn't read anything). Paper Machier is the name of the game. Not the kind of glue you'd use on a newspaper. This is the entire set. Only water is required! It functions admirably. It appeals to me. When I run out of this, I'll buy it again. This comes in handy for a variety of projects. Just remember to keep your nose and mouth covered while mixing this up because the dust particles can be very irritating if inhaled. When scooping it out of the container, be careful not to break it.
This reminds me of plaster, in my opinion. It has a thickening agent or paper in it. The white glue was what I was looking for. as a substance to use with news paper, as one might expect from a "paper mache" project. You are unable to use any other type of paper with this.
