Though I haven't a clue what pine needle basket weaving is, the raffia used here is very strong and doesn't break easily or shred.
It doesn't seem likely to me. My problem is that it is thin and it does not unroll wide enough.
It was not something I thought of, I wasn't sure why

The Raffies. My goal was to learn how to make coil baskets and I decided that raffia was the perfect material to use. My first impression when I saw how much raffia was on one roll was stunning. I ended up ordering two rolls. Knowing how much I ordered was obvious, but I did not know how much I ordered, you Although it's not an expert opinion, I think this is a much better option than the more expensive raffias if you're crafting a non-permanent piece of artwork There are clothing items that you can wear (Wool and the Gang springs to mind). If I were making a bag with this, it would be hard to crochet or knit since it was stiff to work with, in which case the more expensive options might be worth considering. Another point worth noting is the fact that some have expressed disappointment that the raffia was not Paper fiber raffia can expand and lose its shape when wet, because it is a natural fiber. The ones in this batch do not have a waxy coating, so if you need something that will stand up to water, you may not want to order this.
I love it so much. It's amazing how well this raffia works. This is such an easy tool to use and the spool is packed full of amazing goodies. Aside from being surprisingly soft, it is also quite durable. As I previously mentioned, I had seen a sunflower pillow I liked, but it was too large for the space so I decided to crochet it myself. My previous experience with jute crocheting was a lot more difficult than this one. My stitching was still very good even when I had to frogging a few times (because I was making the pattern up as I went along). It is a product that I recommend highly.
It's a big roll of raffia with a Center pull, and is easy to crochet with. I bought it to make a scarf. It's a good quality raffia. For this project, I like it a lot.
I was able to locate the start of the roll very easily. Though I've never worked directly with raffia before, I assume that this is just patterned paper to mimic raffia rather than raffia that's natural. Despite its appearance, this is neither straw nor paper. will in no way be water resistant, but is perfect for my crafting needs. I had to unfold it in order to rip a piece off after I tried to tear a piece of it. Would I be able to make permanent items like a bag or shoes out of this, probably not. However, I would be able to use it to wrap gifts, make tropical theme decorations (that I should be able to reuse multiple times), and whatever else comes to mind.
I am amazed at how much raffia is available! Fits a hula dancer just right. My hula costumes (lei, horse costume, etc. ) were made from them - for decorating a table at an event, wrapping Christmas gifts and making costumes for my hula performances. It is strong (as long as you don't yell too hard on it), can be wet (for making a fresh flower lei).
The basket was left in the packaging it came in and I poked an opening in the center in which the raffia can be pulled out. The entire process was very convenient, and I did not find it A strong and consistent color is achieved with this product.
The price is definitely worth it. Buying more will be next on my to-do list.
There is so much raffia in it. There were enough left over to wrap Christmas packages out of one roll. I made three hats out of it.
