Strings of different colors are not entangled in any way, they are separate pieces of string, and the only thing holding them in place is the plastic around the package.

Other brands of ribbon of this type allow you to feed multiple colors at once and they work great, but I don't like this brand because you have to feed through each color individually

It is very thin, and when pulled it tangles when it is removed. This brand of ribbon tangles as it is fed through, so it requires more time and effort. I could just as easily cut from multiple spools of ribbon, the entire purpose of having the ribbon all on one spool and paying for the ribbon to do it all automatically. My opinion is that it is not worth the price. I wouldn't order from them.

I bought this craft for my mother's day. I like how the colors complement each other. One minor setback, though, was that I did not realize that the plastic around it could not be undone until afterward. In this way, it keeps the coils tightly wound. The top of it is pulled through! A gift recipient asked me to buy this item to tie around it. I was disappointed in the thickness of the rope, and the fact that each color was a separate strand meant I had to tie the ends every time I cut it. It might be useful for tying a gift bow, but it takes extra effort to tie the ends every time.
