Strings of different colors are not entangled in any way, they are separate pieces of string, and the only thing holding them in place is the plastic around the package.
My mom makes native american baskets, so I bought this for her. The colors are vibrant and the system works perfectly.
It is very thin, and when pulled it tangles when it is removed. This brand of ribbon tangles as it is fed through, so it requires more time and effort. I could just as easily cut from multiple spools of ribbon, the entire purpose of having the ribbon all on one spool and paying for the ribbon to do it all automatically. My opinion is that it is not worth the price. I wouldn't order from them.
