I'm sorry, but I don't work with oils or pencils, so I'm not sure. However, this acts as a sealer, so I doubt it.
It's all about the water. based, but because printer inks differ, I would test a similar piece of print before committing to a whole project.
I'd only put it on the backs of the photos, not the fronts. That is what I would do because I would do some research before using any product to seal the photo itself.
It's the first time I've used it on a coaster. However, I'm guessing it's similar to other surfaces of the same type. It takes 24 hours for the cure to be fully effective.

Mod Podge isn't nearly as good. It has no unpleasant odor and performs admirably.
I bought a bottle because Christy Tomlinson raved about it. Now that I've found it, I've been using it a lot. When it dries, it's clear, and unlike stupid ModPodge, it's completely matte. This product is essential for anyone who works with mixed media, as it can be used straight from the bottle or diluted with water for more delicate work. This book comes highly recommended.
