My sincere thanks go out to In my opinion, this is not the right application for leather straps. After getting the leather wet and then dry, then putting it in a warm place, it would not hold up for very long. It would crack and dry out. I think it would be more useful to wrap it around knife handles, bowls, and other utensils where you wouldn't be getting them wet all the time. Thank you for your experiment, Dan.

A rustic belt for my daughter's flower girl dress is something I want to braid. Do you think this would ?

In short, yes. It became a wall hanging after I braided it. Rather than braid a single strand, I doubled them and braided six of them for about a 1 1/4" wide braid. This braid is quite stiff, and thus a bit difficult to work with than suede.

It wraps around the handle of the axe

The leather straps are very nice. Two strips measuring 6 feet in length, as described. The leather is a little dry and cracked upon arrival, but you can paint on some mink oil to make it shine. I would purchase it again if the price is right, and probably will.

A powerful force

When I placed my first order, there was a lost package, but I placed a new order the next day and it arrived in good condition. To hang my garden tools on pegs, I use these straps. After drilling a small hole, slipping the leather through and tying a hitch knot, drilled another hole at the end of the handle. There's a lot more leather to this strap than previously expected, so the strap can probably last a long time. This method is how I am hanging all my tools today because I have decided to do so.
