The quality is excellent, and they are very durable. Having an assortment of sizes is a good idea. There is one reviewer who mentions the internal diameter is not large enough for paracord. I use Mil-Spec. The cord specification 550 is adequate for me and the inner diameter is adequate too. It can only be handled by the smallest needle and the eyed needle, but they have no issue with microneedles however, the smallest needle can handle the smaller needle fine If you are used to working with fids and 550 cord the other two are large enough for double-layered paracord if you are used to working with them. For double layer you simply need to melt the ends together at an angle and they thread nicely. For my tastes, the larger diameter fids leave too much gap behind, so these are perfect. I am unsure of how it will fit for users with single pieces of cord, but it is perfect for The attachment shows a type I cord in the smaller fid, a double layered, single cord, with a needle eye and a coreless cord in the larger This is a nice collection that fits neatly into a case, and is a great buy at.
The tools are exactly what they are advertised as being. The app has been using it for about a week now and I'm very satisfied with it. Comparing the paddle to some other (presumably more expensive) tools, I feel it is a little thin, but it is useful on the flat side of the larger sponge. I think it should be deeper by a couple millimeters, as it is a nice addition to the set. I have dropped one star because of these two things.
You can use it for craft projects and finding this to be a great value. I find it difficult to thread the needles so that the paracord doesn't fall out easily and they don't hold the cord well as I would like. This may just be the way they work, but this is my only set, and it works well enough that I don't plan on buying more to use as a comparison. It is important to know that if you purchase these, they really help guide whatever cord you are working with, but the hold on the cord may not be as strong as desired and may require you to experiment a few times before you get one that works well.
I was a bit concerned by some reviews, so the first thing I did out of the package was to cut the paracord diagonally, burn it, spread it by paddling, and then twist it into the 5mm (OD) fid. A screw held it in place. The thread and the tie stayed in place when threaded and tied. With a metal spreader, there's really no way to go wrong.
this needle is exactly what I've been looking for but on a budget for non-paracord crafts, so bonus points. If the case lasts then thats another bonus, but if i have to buy another one, then the case will fall apart. I have many pockets and compartments to store fids and needles, but I expect that the case will fall apart. The product is best suited to crafters who are comfortable cutting latigo or paracord.
The quality of the product and the holding case made me quite impressed, I'm sure it will help me to organize. There is no such thing as too many fids and paracording tools, you can never have too many! I had an aluminum 550 size fid, but I wanted the micro cord version, so I bought this.
In a matter of minutes, I made a paracord bracelet for my husband and used the smoothing tool to melt and finish the ends. It's really important to have the right tools in order to get good My fids of different sizes were used to add special lacing and the process was quite simple. It was a great experience and I would recommend it.
I don't think there is anything special about them. Both the wife and the husband The microcord needles were something that my sister and I both needed, so I bought a set for us both. It is necessary to sand some of the tips because they have a few sharp edges and nicks. Depending on what you pay for, you get what you have paid Having said that, if I need more I will buy There's no fear in me when it comes to cleaning & maintaining They will look better if they are buff.
Having never used Paracording before, I'd like to introduce myself. To date, this set has done a very good job for me. The fact that it contains several different fids is appealing to me. Since I am in the process of progressing, I'm not sure if these will be the only fds I need since I feel that I still need more fds as I go along. It is true that they In addition, it seems that each project will require different tools for tightening knots as I work on it. A great product. It does what it is supposed to do.
