A pack of blunt needles will set you back less than four dollars. 00, as well as a nylon lead cord for two. 00 and finish it off with a 2. 00 titanium tent spike and you'll be able to replace the entire set. The tip of the tool came off the first time I used it to remove slack from a project. With a thin piece of aluminum, it clung to the body. Approximately the same thickness as a can of coke. All of the other items appear to be in good working order.
The scissors that came with this product were only good for cutting paper. Even candy bar wrappers were a challenge for them. The weaving tools were nice, but no better than the cheaper sets you can get without all the extras that make this one more expensive; the knotter tool/case is thin steel, and looks exactly like the one I had that snapped in half a few months ago. But we'll see how this one stands up to scrutiny.
The firm has been extremely accommodating and pleasant to work with.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no There are a few useful tools in this kit, but the majority of them aren't worth keeping in the bag. You'll spend just as much buying the individual tools, so you might as well buy the kit and throw out the garbage, starting with the snips (which are useless). The snips are supposed to go with my sewing machine, but they're so ineffective that they can't even cut a single para-phrase. (the teeny-tiny white core strands).
I wish the marlin spike was more tapered and the fids were thinner walled, but it gets the job done and holds up well, so at this price point, I'm not complaining.
Except for the cutting tool, I really like the kit. It's made of plastic, and the blades pop out of their grooves, making cutting extremely difficult. I bought some titanium scissors, which work much better, and I have to manually place the blade back in the groove every time. The other tools, on the other hand, are of high quality and have become indispensable in my hobby. tape recorder.
The tools appear to be of reasonable quality; however, you do not receive everything shown and listed. One of the bent fids wasn't included in the package. This is my second attempt at obtaining the entire set. but to no avail I'm not going to bother sending these back because it would be too much trouble, so I'll keep them and consider it another case of "buyer beware. ".
