Selected User Reviews For SuperMoss (21512) Preserved Sheet Moss, Fresh Green, 8oz (200 cubic inch)
The moss in this container was purchased for our reptile rescue to use in our frog and small tropical lizard vivariums. With a little water, it comes back to life and just looks breathtaking. This preserved moss comes dried in sheets you can easily tear away or cut into other shapes as desired. Because it is preserved moss, you must dust off the excess dirt from the top and underneath, but I was able to do so with ease with a dry paintbrush. I was thrilled to find a lot of moss. There was enough to cover two football fields. One package contains three changes of moss in a vivarium. moss is of a high quality at an affordable price. Green and bright, this is the perfect color for a wide variety of uses!.
Here you get a lot of value for your money. 8 oz (200 cubic inches) seemed like a good deal to me. A Mickey Mouse moss tree I made for my coffee table required over one pound of material. It was a ton of food There was a foam base that was probably 14x12 inches in size, and it covered the whole thing. Originally, I went to a major craft store and bought a competitor's sheet moss at almost three times the price. Their product was so miserable that I went online and saw this gem for a remarkable price! There is also a gorgeous color to it. A competitor's product was very flat, undimensional, and thin so it looked very fake. Green, and the depth of hues and dimensions that blend well with the realistic thick texture, make SuperMoss your ideal choice in realistic foliage. Basically, all I have to say is that this stuff has such an awful smell! The people who reviewed it described it as "earthy". As a chemical reaction, it would be described as such. You might think it's either the methyl hydrate (found in paint thinner) or the dye they use to preserve the moss. My only wish is that they would state what they use to preserve it. That way, I wouldn't be so afraid to walk by it every time. It's unfortunate that all preserved moss brands contain chemicals that can be dangerous. It's not totally a negative. AND IT'S A GOOD PRICE, INCLUDES QUALITY, QUALITY, NATURAL TEXTURE, THICK. There is a dimensionality to the color. A minor con of the book is the smell, and it is not discloses the method of preservation or the chemicals used.
There is no way I could have known that this garbage was dead, painted, and a pile of worthless Keeping it around Bonsai trees or anywhere else but a miniature railroad model city is not a good idea. A few hours later I tried to apply some to my new Pony Tail Palm and it looks terrible. All of it is going to be thrown out. My misunderstanding of its purpose may just be a simple misunderstanding. Due to the fact that it has been opened, I cannot return This was a lesson to be.
I have ordered it twice since ordering it from a friend. It is not cheap, but I love it anyways. On a recent trip to see my mom out of state, I went to her local grocery store florist (Kroger) and asked if they had any sheet moss for sale. My florist went back in the refrigerated room and pulled out a few large sheets for me (about the same quantity as SuperMoss pack) and put it in a plastic bag while making a 3+ price affixed to it so I could pay for it. My local florist does not have it, and Amazon makes it so easy to buy that it isn't worth the effort. Items in a package). perfect for decorating/finishing off planters and pots around the house and yard and is more natural in appearance than Spanish or other types of decorative moss (it is also easier to use and less messy). As a way to cover and hide vine roots in my flower beds around my patio, I have used it to great effect--it's stayed put.
To use it as part of a centerpiece for a brunch I hosted, I was thrilled. When I opened the package, the smell was so overwhelming that it made me I was bound to get upset when my husband said it could not be on the table when we were going to eat. Although this would be perfect for some projects, do not use this for a centerpiece as this is not intended for use in a tabletop setting.
The same cannot be said for me. I don't like this stuff at all. Essentially, it is a very bright (fake) green "moss. ". Wrapped in sheets but did not unwrap Just broke into pieces (chunks and shredded bits! 2) and USELESS–it's a total waste of time! Because I was working on newspaper, I was able to wrap up the mess and either throw it out or wrap it up. I tried sending it back, but it was so messy and frustrating that it wasn't even worth it. I was very sad to hear this news It was a waste of money too! You should try another brand. I find this to be awful.
In the context of what it is, this is fine. Moss that has been dyed and dried. It seems there is nothing to explain what preserved moss is, as I expected live moss. It is likely that I will use it for a wire pot in the spring, as that seems to be what most people use it for. To me, it would be useful if it were more obvious what exactly the product is to the "clouds" out there like me. This product should not be used on bonsai plants. Although I was obligated to give the movie a lower rating, I actually feel bad about it. It looks like a great product to meet its intended purpose.
I found this material very difficult to work with, and it was mostly brown when it came out of the package. There were some green bits, but they crumbled when I lifted them up. Then I bought another, thinking it was just a bad batch, but I got the same result on that one too. Unfortunately, I bought the wrong item.
