Questions & Answers
Live flowers can absorb water with the help of a pin holder. Of course, silk flowers do not require this, and I have no idea what the stems of silk flowers are made of- It's possible that it's made of something too difficult to stick on a pin. Please call a silk flower shop and inquire about the best frog.
It's a big pin holder with a lot of weight to it. It's in a vase with a circumference that's about the same as the holder's, so it doesn't tip over. If you wanted to make an asymmetrical arrangement in a large or flat vase, you'd have to put some floral clay under the pin holder to keep it from tipping over.
This is a particularly high-profile case. This is a high-quality frog that has been expertly crafted. The pins are brass, so they won't rust; I have the larger size, not the miniature; the rubber "jacket" is a nice feature because it won't damage your vase if you drop it too hard. If your arrangement is asymmetrical, it will be less likely to tip because it is heavy. It is, in my opinion, an excellent choice.
It hasn't rusted in the least.

They do, however, do a fantastic job of preserving fresh flowers in a vase. I'd also suggest picking up some museum wax. br>br> Apply a small blob to the underside of the gizmo to secure it to the vase while also making it easy to remove. The wax is clear so that it does not detract from the appearance of a clear vase.
These are fantastic! These smaller ones are probably best used in narrower pots or plates, as they can easily fall over if the balance is off. They're entertaining to play with, and there's a method and an art to them.
These will work best with hollow stemmed plants rather than woody stemmed plants (think irises rather than roses). I'm sure they work in some cases, but they didn't work for our small arrangements, even when I tried to "predrill" the stem hole.
I loved being able to order a beautiful dark green Ichebana Vase for my daughter-in-law from a local Potter - AND that I'd be able to make the frog fit in the vase. I'm confident she'll have a good time with it.
They're used in shot glasses for me.
To keep these frogs from moving, you'll need a lot of sticky tape, or else your whole flower arrangement will fall apart. If the flowers aren't too heavy or have long stems, you can use tape to keep them in place.
It completely fulfills its promise. It's so satisfying when something is well-made and performs as well as it should!.
I bought these for my daughter, who enjoys making floral arrangements in still life. They do a fantastic job of holding the flowers in place.
