Questions & Answers
They'd be awful at picking locks. They are, however, excellent for sculpting, molding, applying glue or epoxy work, and a variety of other tasks.
Some of mine had rust, or what appeared to be rust, on them when I got them.
They're not stainless steel, so don't use them to dab. You should only dab from stainless steel instruments because, when heated to the temperature used for dabbing, they do not leach out harmful substances like other metals do.
You could probably carve Plaster of Paris with them, but it'd take a long time. To carve plaster, you should probably use a Foredom or Dremel tool with a burr. These tools were designed to carve wax models for casting dental crowns and appliances, and they were frequently used for that purpose. They are rigid, but not completely inflexible (depending on the tool in question). They aren't as stiff as chisels or gouges for wood carving.

6 product may contain chemicals that are known to cause cancer or reproductive harm. Wow, these don't feel like stainless steel and leave a constant metal powder residue when used; I tried them once and they made my hands itch. So I pulled out my lead test kit, which consists of test strips. I work with wax molds and jewelry, and I make sure that any jewelry components I use are free of lead before using them. Years ago, I was experiencing headaches as a result of working on my jewelry. Then I noticed a huge sign in a craft store. Most low-cost metal beads and charms now have this feature. Before allowing your kids to wear or handle jewelry, make sure you test it first. Why do we continue to import these hazardous materials? With my lead test kit, these tools glow a bright red. They may contain stainless steel, but unless you're willing to use gloves every time you use one of these instruments, you're risking exposure to lead or worse. Do not get them wet; they will rust in a matter of hours, and children should not be allowed to handle them. Bring no food into the kitchen or any other eating area. I was thinking about how I could put these to good use. Do you want to use a tool grip on them? Apply a coat of clear nail polish to them? No way. My health isn't worth it. How much would real tools cost in a doctor's or veterinarian's supply store? Genuine SS is built to last a lifetime. These will eventually end up in the hands of someone who is unaware that they are potentially toxic. I saw a lot of people buying them, so I did too. br>br>Clearly printed on the tool wrap, and there's metal dust in the pockets, saysbr>Made in Indiabr>The warning is so small I had to use a 20x magnifying glass to read it. br>br>Warning according to California Law 25249. 6 of the products could contain carcinogens. and/or reproductive toxicitybr>Only use on waxbr>Hardware use onlybr>Aren't we worth more?.
I just got mine, and I'm very dissatisfied with the poor quality. I intended to use it in my clay pottery for detail carving. Although it's commendable that the manufacturer appears to employ visually impaired people, the grind is poorly executed, as evidenced by the photo I've attached. Half of the tools are useless because they have burrs or are misshapen to the point of causing artwork flaws. For $10. I'll keep them because half of them appear to be usable, and I'm not in the mood to pack them up and return them. I'd accept a better replacement bundle if I thought I'd get one, but after reading the other reviews, I don't think that'll happen. When I first looked at the reviews, I found some that were positive, but now I see some that are negative. For me, it's too late; for you, it's not. Continue to shop.
LEAD IS CONTAINED IN THIS PRODUCT. MADE IN CHINA, NOT THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. DO NOT USE THE WORD "DAB. " S*** LIKE THIS IS TOXIC. MEDICAL GRADE 2 TITANIUM IS TO BE USED FOR DABBING. WHEN YOU SEARCH FOR DAB TOOLS, THIS SET APPEARS, BUT IT IS NOT WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR.
I'm not sure where all these glowing reviews came from, but what I received in the mail did not impress me in the least. I wasn't expecting top-notch craftsmanship, but instead received a collection of very dull and irregular instruments. To sharpen any of these into a usable edge, you'd have to obliterate the contours (at a cost greater than the product itself). If I'm an outlier, I'd appreciate it if the vendor contacted me to send a replacement. Otherwise, I'm going to have to send these back because they're useless to me.
I know it's on a lot of things, but I didn't see it mentioned anywhere in the advertising, and no picture of the case with it written on it was included in any of the item photos. Second, most of these have a poor grind, and some of them are extremely rough. br>br>I wouldn't use these for anything oral or food-related, but I think they're worth the money for a garage or hobby set.
This is something I wish I had done years ago! I dabble in sculpting and have a collection of wood and metal tools that I acquired over the years- I work with polymer clay and have never been a fan of the tools because they always seem to pull up and leave marks on the clay. I can smooth things out with my fingers, but I've never been able to get clean details that I'm happy with. Another sculptor assured me that I was using the proper tools, so I assumed I was just bad at it: I've only had 10 minutes with these, but I already prefer them to the tools I've been using for years. You can easily add detail and blend it into the surrounding clay without much effort! I'm very pleased with these; they work much better for me!.
The items they send are of poor quality; you can see stainless steel on the picture, but you will receive kina cooper. br>br>Another issue is that it is broken. So the edges have terrible finishes, as if they've already been used for something other than clay, like hell dentistry. br>br>Based on the image, those appear to be good clay sculpting tools. It is, however, a piece of low-cost metal. br>br>Another thing is that they will charge you shipping costs if you request a return, so you'll waste time going to USPS, waiting in line, and waiting for your $6 (half) back. br>br>so I kept it in case someone wanted to make a horror movie with the enraged dentist, and I'll sell it to them to make some money)).
I'm an aerospace machinist who knows the difference between good and bad tools. As in, I don't shop anywhere that has Freight in the name. This is the real deal! They come in a nice little carrying case to ensure they don't get misplaced, and they're all in good condition. I am the person who researches every purchase -br>br>I am the person who researches every purchase - Whether you're selling it for $3 or $300, it'll be worth it. These were also the subjects of my research. These same tools cost nearly three times as much in craft store kits. Occasionally, with subpar equipment. THIS IS A GREAT DEAL! br>br>.
