Questions & Answers

I'm looking for just the slicer handles. ?

I haven't decided yet. However, if you prefer polymer clay, you can probably make any type you want out of it. After gluing the blades together, you can bake them with the clay attached. Please accept my apologies for not being able to provide a more detailed response.

Between the handles, what are the blades' dimensions?

The blades are 3/4" x 5" in length. 5" and 3/4" x 7" for the longer one. 5" If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Rob, thank you for taking the time to look at my website. Polymer Clay Express's Office Manager 1 800- 844- 11 a.m., 0138- Mon-Fri 6 p.m. est

Is there a flexible blade among the blades?

Yes, one of the blades can be bent.

Which package did you get: the 6-piece set with black and yellow handles or the 9-piece set with grey teardrop-shaped snaps? on the grips?

The 9-piece set is what I have. Joanns had a six-piece set that I purchased.

It's possible that you'll bleed a little
3/5

On this one, my complaints are directed at Sculpey, not Amazon or the seller, so I'm hoping one of their representatives is reading them (though I doubt it). To begin with, you are purchasing large, razor-sharp razor blades. Putting the handles on these was not a difficult task for me. You can snap the handles onto these if you can snap the lid off a sticky ketchup bottle (that was the best comparison I could come up with in terms of difficulty). Because the blade is razor sharp, you don't want flimsy handles, so it should be securely fastened. br>br>The blades cut clay (I use Premo and Kato brands) as intended, and it's a good thing they bend if you need to cut something curved. You can also use a straight blade to cut things. I like the wavy one, and I'm sure I'll find a use for it. br>br>The thing is, I unpacked these and put the handles on with extreme caution, and I still cut myself! It's nothing serious, and I'll be fine, but so many of us have lost blood as a result of this product, and Sculpey could spend a few dollars to add a protective sleeve over the razor sharp edge. It'd also be fantastic if these blades came with some sort of storage or sleeve. I'm using a repurposed thick plastic bag because I don't want to come across one of these while digging through my supply box. Knives and razor blades both come with a protective sleeve; these should as well.

Packaging has been improved
5/5

After reading numerous reviews about people cutting themselves simply by opening the package and attaching the safety handles, I was a little hesitant at first. It arrived today with the handles already attached, which was a pleasant surprise! It's also simple to open the blister pack. Naturally, you must use caution when handling them, as they are extremely sharp blades. However, I am very pleased with the improved packaging in general. Thank you to everyone who has gone before me and shed blood.

The Blood, Oh My God! The Blood, Oh My God! Sculpey did a great job packing so much stickey tape into these massive Razor Blades! br>When un-installing, please take care
4/5

I had no idea these had a razor edge because of their packaging. Also, the grip handles are fantastic, but changing blades is far too difficult.

Poor packaging, extremely hazardous! They haven't been sued yet, which is a bit surprising
3/5

These are a serious safety hazard, and I believe they should have spent more money on better packaging. The blades are taped together, and the crinkle blade is tucked beneath the first. br>br>I was being cautious when it slipped and I was cut. They should come with a handle pre-installed on EACH BLADE. There is only one handle, and attempting to insert it will almost certainly result in a cut. br>br>I severed the tendon in my finger. I'm hoping that this dangerous product is removed or redesigned after five stitches and some motion loss.

They come with three different cutters that are all very effective
5/5

I had no trouble getting the three (and unpacking them)- My exacta knife blade holder is in need of a replacement blade, but it's still useful. I'm experimenting with a variety of clay brands and techniques. It's worth noting that the two slicing blades aren't the same (and as you can see, the other one has a completely different cut). ) Due to the sturdier type blade, I've mostly used the one that is straight and bends little. I didn't notice the difference until recently. If I want to change the shape of a cut or cookie cutter (for example), I can bend the bendable one in a curve. It's a big help in matching my earring changes to their original shape (and making them even and look the same). I occasionally want to split/cut only a small portion of the top (without going too deep). It's for aesthetic purposes). I've pressed a design onto a conditioned "slab of clay. " and don't want to make the thickness thicker- The skinny one performs admirably. I adore the fact that I have all three types! I'm new to polymer clay, but it's a lot of fun, and I've seen videos where zi can sharpen (it'll probably be necessary after a few months of constant use- and it isn't too difficult to accomplish. ) This is one of the few (of many) tools I purchased that I believe was well worth the money. Apart from clay, I had no idea what I required. For me, this is a must-have item.

It's fantastic! These were delivered to me by Amazon
5/5

My handles were also attached, but there was no sticky tape on them. I'd like to express my gratitude to Sculpey for taking the time to read and listen to these reviews, as well as for making changes. I'd also like to express my gratitude to the reviewers for sharing their stories, which helped Scupley make the necessary changes. These are still razor-sharp blades that must be handled with caution and stored safely when not in use. To keep my blades in, I purchased a small plastic pencil case. It's fantastic! I agree with those who say the blades are flimsy, but that has no bearing on my ability to cut nice, even straight lines with them. If you're bending while cutting a straight line, I'm guessing you're applying too much cutting pressure to the blade. If your clay is properly prepared, these blades will slice through it like butter. They're an excellent addition to my clay toolkit.
