Using cone six as the firing temperature, I made this bowl. A temperature of 1800°F is the equivalent. It is possible to melt glass in a range of temperatures from 500°F to 1600°F, depending on its composition. The bowl looks like it will be good for slumping glass. Having melted glass in a mold and cooled it off, I am not familiar how to remove it from the mold. For me, this seems like a feasible answer to this question. Hope you have a great day!
Using ceramic paints on a piece so you can fire it is a good option. To make the colors dark and rich, three coats of paint will be required. A layer of acrylic paint can also be applied. When the paint has dried, it can be sprayed with a glossy clear coat to prevent it There is no need to fire an acrylic. A non-toxic fuel is best if you intend to cook it, as well as if you are going to burn it for food The gun must have some sort of toxic clear coat applied before it is fired. In addition to making it dishwasher-safe, the clear coat should also make it stain-resistant.
