Selected User Reviews For Pottery Forming Machine, ZXMT 9.8'' Table Top Pottery Wheel Ceramics Clay Tool (Gray)
After reading all the reviews, I was really excited to get this tabletop wheel! To be honest, my expectations were very low to begin with as I am a potter who purchased this wheel mainly for trimming and glazing purposes. It never even crossed my mind to try it. In spite of several attempts (taking the tray off, applying pressure to the turntable, etc. - including removing the tray and cleaning the pedal- the machine does not run. There is no movement of the wheel! There is no movement of the wheel despite the motor running. It will be sent back to me.
The wheel is great for starters! I love the fact that it came double boxed.
In my opinion, it wasn't my cup of tea. As a previous user of pottery wheels, I found this particular pottery wheel inadequate in comparison to the rest. If you have other experience it may not be the best option for you. I know it's a pricey deal, but remember it's a pretty good one for the price. The table was smaller than anticipated, so I had to raise it up about 7 inches with a small table, which was not too difficult. I find that when pressing the centering wheel, the wheel will slow down and I'll have a lot of trouble centering it. Towards the end of the lesson, I would sometimes place my knees up against the wheel to gain more stability, but it would slide almost every time. I know this is a table top wheel, but I figured it can also go on the floor. As a final conclusion, I think it would make a nice table top wheel or a good option for beginners but otherwise, it might not be the best option for more experienced potters. Thank you! I hope this is helpful.
It arrived used and had a large scratch in the wheel, so I was disappointed. I ordered it for a low price and had hoped it would be free of problems. When there's a knock at every rotation, it's extremely difficult to center clay. I hate it. This is the second one that was returned. Especially if you're a beginner, this is a great wheel to try! Be wary, though. You might end up sending it back multiple times before you find the one that works.
It is a lovely wheel. Designed with a simple layout. There was a problem with the product I received. Although it turns on, it does not spin regardless of the selected speed. There is no way I can accept this and will be returning. Please read ***Update Clearly, the wheel is in motion! I'm so happy! I would draw the attention of others to the fact that it takes a couple of seconds for the pedal to spin when you first floor it. Whenever you do not see it start right away, keep pushing down and wait for it to start. As I still have clay to receive, I haven't used it, but I notice it holds speed once I get it going, and it is able to rotate in almost any direction with ease. The seat is a bit low, but it appears to work well with a toddler stepping stool.
There is a knock/wobble in the wheel, rendering the wheel throwing process as ineffective and unattractive as possible. Ideally, I would not have to go through this return and repurchase process. The review will be adjusted in accordance with the responses I received from the seller.
There was a problem with the tools when they were delivered. Also, it appears they are trying to superglue the needle tool back in, which could prove to be dangerous for the patient. There's no need to use the included tools.
While the box is torn, the wheel is in perfect condition and works perfectly.
