The thing I am working on is not going well A wheel will not turn more than one revolution without grinding to a halt. Either bearings or pressings are bad or both Does it fit too tightly in place? I tried lubricant and it didn't work. A major problem with these two cast pieces is their unevenness and off-set A poor paint job was done on the top of my box, and it had black spots. Overall, this wheel does not impress me in any way. Don't do it.
There is nothing more solid or heavy duty than this small turntable. There is a difference in how the top spins because the ball bearings, or whatever they use, are As I was learning about pottery, I thought I would be able to spin it and apply glaze to it. Although spending it results in maybe a quarter of a turn at best. I always thought the point of a turntable would be to allow free rotation. The one in this case.
It is a very sturdy product that works well. The smooth and free spinning is made possible by the ball bearings. This is the glaze I use for.
You will love its small size and sturdy construction! It works well as a craft material. It would be nice to have three.
Those with knowledge about pottery needs will not be surprised that this stand does not live up to the quality of This banding wheel only spins about a quarter of the time as a Shimpo banding wheel. My only regret is not buying this earlier. Has exactly what I wanted and is tough enough to withstand a fair amount of They aren't as big or as slick as those that cost three times as much, but they still aren't bad for the price.
A good value for the money. The base is heavy and nice. The swivel is smooth and easy to use. The pot is 18" in diameter and I was using it to work on it. The top surface worked well for me, although I originally thought I would need a larger one.
There was no balance to the wheelhead on the wheel I received, and it had a nice weight, but a severe wobble. Even though I did not need a perfect wheel, I had to return it as it was simply not stable so I had to return it. Currently, I'm using the blue one, which is also available on Amazon, and I must say it is well worth the extra cost.
