A permanent sharpie, I believe, would be sufficient. Alcohol ink, on the other hand, did not work.
We painted them with acrylic paint before spraying them with sealer. For our patients, it was a wonderful present.
I'm not sure what you mean when you say you're ready for sublimation. I painted with acrylic paint and sealed it with Duplex all-purpose sealer. They're serving as coasters for me. Because of the cork backing, they cannot be washed in the dishwasher.
If you're using something that needs to be sealed first (staz- ), I'd say that's fine. The ink would soak into the tiles if they weren't sealed! I painted with acrylic paint that had not been sealed.

It was simple to put the cork backing on. br>My rating is not solely based on the tiles; however, if I had another 5 STARS to give, I would. I read reviews about damaged/chipped tiles, and unfortunately two of the twelve arrived with minor chips, but instead of taking a star off or writing a negative review, I REACHED out to the company with photos and requested more. They were QUICK TO SHIP THE TWO AND A COUPLE OF EXTRAS (I believe for my troubles?). ) BUT, you know how vinegar and honey go together? Because they are people just like us, why not turn a mistake into an opportunity to be kind and show a company that you want to do business with them again? I did.
As part of my daughter's wedding gift, I made some monogrammed coasters. There were only 11 coasters in the box when I received them, rather than the usual 12. I contacted the seller, and three more were sent to me. not 1. but 3! They responded quickly, allowing me to finish my gift. Their customer service is outstanding, and they went far beyond the call of duty. I will most certainly purchase from this seller again in the future!.
A few of the cork backings were crushed during shipping and could not be used, but I contacted the company, and they promptly sent me plenty of extras, which I greatly appreciated. I'll be purchasing these again in the future for other projects.
The color is also important. If they had (real) whites, I would order them as well. They were delivered promptly and in perfect condition. There were no chipped or broken tiles because they were well packaged. Cork adhesive backings were also included, as described, as an added bonus. Although they are a bisque color rather than white, I believe they are ideal for color. sepia photographs, in particular. To protect the piece and give it a glossy finish, I'll use epoxy. My purchase has made me extremely happy.
I'm going to use it to make my own coasters.
Every year, my children and I make Christmas gifts for our friends and family. Coasters were the theme this year. These arrived quickly, were simple to paint and seal, and were well received by all. Only a few of the two batches I ordered were chipped, but not to the point where they couldn't be used.
They were of excellent quality, and I particularly enjoyed the corkboard bottoms, which I was able to easily adhere to! In the future, I will place another order.
I knew it was a bad idea, but I had to give it a shot. It was difficult to work with flow paint on these. You can't hold on to them, with or without gloves, because they become so slippery. They're also a quarter-inch shorter than they should be. However, if you're using alcohol ink, they're very absorbent. However, if you put them on a stand, they have no weight and are easily tippy. Stick to sweating cans or cups because they don't have much weight. I'm not going to buy any more of these.
