doesn't; I'm not sure where it came from, but it smells like sweet beeswax.
That's what I'm assuming. Beeswax pellets are what it is. It melts uniformly!

I was concerned about the smell after reading the other reviews. This is bee wax, and it smells like honey. There is nothing out of the ordinary. There's nothing too loud. I'm not sure what went wrong with the product of the previous reviewer, but I didn't have the same problem.
With these, we created incredible candles! I'll be ordering more in the near future. I'm also interested in making some salves. In a double boiler, they melt beautifully. Regrettably, the odor is absolutely revolting! The smell is similar to that of burned chemicals. My homemade beard butter is made with bees wax. I melted and cooled it twice in the hopes of getting rid of the smell, and the second time it smelled more like the other bees wax I'd used. However, the problem was not completely eliminated. It made a good beard butter after mixing it with carrying oils and essential oils, and it didn't smell nearly as bad. I looked up why it smelled like that, and it came down to low-cost methods of clarification and processing, as well as the use of other undesirable chemicals and methods. If it's organic that you're looking for, you've come to the right place. pass. If you don't mind an extra melting and cooling step, go ahead and do it. This is a good, reasonable, and inexpensive option. I should point out that I'm always on the lookout for a good deal and don't consider myself to be picky, but this smell is particularly unpleasant.
I paid for a two-pound package, but my scale reads one pound. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> br>Natural Planet responded quickly to the problem, identifying it as a mislabeled package, and is working to resolve it. I was pleasantly surprised by the level of customer service and will most likely return. When the time comes, you can place an order with them.
I believe this product contains distressed queen pharmonizes. I left a few pellets outside and, unfortunately, a small swarm formed outside my house where the pellets were. I used it in my lotion products, and every customer who used products containing this batch of beeswax complained about bees or other flying insects. br>It's a good product, but this batch had some unwelcome side effects.
It has a light honey scent and behaves like beeswax should. It's primarily used in "Do It Yourself" projects, and we've found it to be comparable to more expensive beeswax. It melts smoothly without leaving a grainy residue in the finished product, and we've tested it in salves, lotions, and lip balms and found it to be reliable. I bought it in pellet form for convenience, but I can't give it a five star rating because this beeswax clumps together and imparts a slightly "off" flavor to some products, such as lip balm. This might not be a problem for you. We like that this is a big two-pound bag that will last us a long time.
The pellets are a great size, but I wasted all of my containers because even scented oils couldn't overcome the product's smell, which should be light and sweet.
To finish the cutting board, I used mineral oil and beeswax. I make a lot of cutting boards and was sick of paying for store-bought cutting board oil. I was able to make enough finish to last me for years at a fraction of the cost of store-bought. There were no odors or anything like that. The wax melted beautifully, and the finish set up nicely.
