Yes! These are extremely durable and make excellent packaging. I use these for my wax melts and pour them at 130 degrees. They are extremely durable. The only disadvantage is that they are difficult to separate.
These were purchased so that I could make my own wax tarts. Into the clamshells, I poured hot soy wax. There was no melting! The wax was easily removed. These are of decent quality; you can tell that the plastic is a little thicker than the flimsy plastic that bends at the drop of a hat. The clam shells' lids are attached to prevent them from falling out. When you close the lid, it remains closed and does not pop open. Making your own melts is a cost-effective way to save money. This product is fantastic, and I plan to purchase more as needed.
I make 16 ounces of wax and add 2 ounces of fragrance to it. It is enough to fill 6 clamshells to the brim. I use 75% soy 415 and 25% white beeswax in my work. I heat the wax to at least 185 degrees Fahrenheit before adding the fragrance at 175 degrees Fahrenheit. The wax is poured at a temperature of around 140 degrees Fahrenheit. There hasn't been any warping or melting of the clamshells. As my recipe sits and cures, it separates from the clamshell, making the melts much easier to use.
Many people have complained about how difficult it is to separate these clam shells. They're correct, too. They do not, however, melt or become flimsy. They are high-quality items. It's well worth the effort of separating them.
This is my second purchase, and I continue to enjoy them. I make a lot of wax melts, and these are by far the best, and the price is unbeatable; I highly recommend them.
They're packed tightly, according to other reviews. I was frustrated as I tried to separate them, but the first wax poured into it melted the bottom. My counter was covered in wax. I discovered that if you let the wax sit for 30 minutes, it will dissolve. It works well if you wait 60 seconds before pouring. When you try to remove the wax from the containers, it does not stick.
So far, I've used these to make 15 different melts and have had no problems. They are my favorite. They have a capacity of two to two. 5 oz of wax beautifully and are sturdy enough that you can push a cube from the bottom and the wax breaks right out with no cracking in the container. Now, they're all stacked when you get them, so you'll have to gently pull some of them apart if they're a little squished together, but none of the ones I've pulled off have cracked or broken. At the moment, these are the ones I'm most likely to purchase again.
