I love my Gemini, but not the cutting plates! While I have followed the sandwich instructions and flipped and rotated the plates before running them through the machine, the plates continue to crack and break. I have a supply of these so I will be able to.
The cutting plate and rubber embossing mat on my Gemin die cutting machine don't impress me as much as I'm pleased with my new machine. * * * This plate warps so quickly that it's ridiculous. As a result of rotating it and flipping it back and forth, it bowed so badly that I had to order a The embossing mat is also included. I used it for the first time and was able to effortlessly cut through However, I do believe that this is one powerful cutting machine that also has some issues. The pluses of the machine outweigh the minuses for me, though. The fact that the plates are so lightweight and that the machine has a reverse option keeps me in love with it because I have problems with my hands (I have had four operations and they are weak).
With the new Gemini machine I can cut intricate dies without wax paper or dryer sheets, which I love as it gives me precision die cutting! Having overused the 12 inch Crafter's Companion Clear Cutting Plate, I replaced it with this one. Due to its electric motor, the Gemini allows me to place very large dies into it as I don't need to crank anything. Even though I own the Big Shot, the Gemini is an excellent choice for intricate die cuts placed on thick glitter paper that don't need wax paper or dryer sheets in order to come out clean. I saved a lot of money in the long run, and I was able to continue using my machine after purchasing this Cutting Plate!.

I had replaced my cutting plate a second time after using it for three months. There is warping on these plates. A typical plate won't bow, but this one won't. The plates are actually warped and will not run through the machine because they seem to have warped in many places. I absolutely love the Gemini machine, however, I do not believe it will be worth having to replace plates periodically if we use it.

The cutting plates could all be better designed for less warping and breaking, but that seems to be an industry standard and not a problem just with a particular brand. Compared to other products on the market, their price is reasonable. It would be best for the company if these machines had a self healing cutting plate, but it would be best for the customer.
