Questions & Answers

Is the blade separate from the hilt or is it a part of it?

It's a part of the weapon's hilt.

Is it true to life size?

It is, in fact, the exact size of the real thing. Almost 5 feet in length.

Does it start from the bottom and work its way to the top?

When you turn it on, the lights begin at the bottom and work their way up. When you turn it off, they start at the top and work their way down. I hope this helps!

Is this a real lightsaber, or is it a fake?

Yes, it's a replica with a real sound metal handle that's more of a collector's item than a dueling weapon (there are lightsabers for that), but it's great for show and tell or costumes.

Unlit, it looks fantastic
3/5

The issue I have with this is that it isn't purple, but rather magenta, with a pink undertone. It's a shame, too, because it looks and feels great when it's not lit. The Rey/Luke/Anakin blue light saber feels a lot more solid. Hilt is also attractive, which is why it receives three stars. It would have been perfect if the blade had been purple, or at least more purple, but the quality we've come to expect is no longer there. If you get it for less than $200, it's not bad, but I wouldn't pay much more than $150 for this version. It makes me want to avoid buying any more of the newer re-released sabers. br>br>Edit with a photo of a lit-up blade. These Black Series sabers simply do not compare to the old Master Replicas sabers. This version is more pink than the Master Replicas version, which is more purple. New Edit. br>br> lowering the star rating from three to two. It's just too pink, and now they're including fake (or old Master Replica) photos of the blade that show it as purple when it's actually pink. No, it's nothing like the purple in the movies or the photos above. It makes no difference what kind of battery you have or how fully charged it is. Take a look at the actual customer photos; each and every one is pink, not purple. I'd give it back if I had the chance.

Finally! I've been collecting Black Series lightsabers since shortly after the release of The Force Awakens, and I've been anticipating this one since Luke's Ep VI saber was released
5/5

I adore the fact that this is the only saber that is this color (at least in the movies). It's one of a kind, which is why it's one of my favorites (along with Kylo Ren's, Luke's Ep VI, and Darth Maul's double saber). Others have complained that the color is off, and while part of that might come from display calibration affecting expectations, and lighting in the area this saber is used and batter It appeals to me. It's on par with the others in terms of scale. The sound is a little lower than the others, but the hilt feels higher quality with the faux leather, chrome, and gold accents. It may not say BMF anywhere on the saber, but this is an excellent reproduction of an iconic saber, and I'm happy to have it mounted in my Nerd Cave. Obi Wan (yawns) (rolls his eyes) They should've done Qui-it-yourself Qui-it-yourself Qui- Instead, use Gon. Another character with a green saber who isn't well-known. It would have been more logical to have a blue Obi Wan than another blue Obi Wan. It's worth noting that the listing specifies 3 AA batteries, but the product actually requires 3 AAA batteries.

A lightsaber with flaws for Mace Windu
3/5

After getting the Kylo Ren and Darth Maul sabers, I decided to get the Black Series Mace Windu Ep3 Force FX Lightsaber to complete my collection. Although the hilt is attractive and has a gleaming finish, the build quality is far inferior to that of the Kylo Ren saber. Whereas the Kylo Ren saber feels like it's made of metal and is quite heavy, the Mace Windu saber feels like it's made of plastic (which could make it more kid-friendly). br>br>As other reviewers have pointed out, the saber's color is more Magenta than Purple, as depicted in the film. Sam Jackson isn't a fan of it. The saber from Savi's Workshop (on the right) is a more true purple color and the hilt casing is made of metal, as seen in the photos next to the Savi's Workshop saber I built at Disneyland. Overall, I believe the he Black Series Mace Windu Ep3 Force FX Lightsaber is still worthwhile to purchase if you can find it on sale for under $100, but if you want a true purple saber, look elsewhere. At Disneyland's Savi's Workshop, you can build your own saber with a variety of hilt options and a red, blue, green, or purple kyber crystal for $200.

The most excellent present
5/5

Since we met, I've known how much my fiance has wanted a lightsaber, but he'd never pay the $800-plus price tag. The asking price was $1200. As a result, when they were re-acquainted with each other, they I knew I had to get it for him when it was released. So it's an early Valentine's Day present for him. It was a huge hit with him. It's his favorite in his collection, he claims. Despite the fact that some reviews said it was too pink, he said it was close and he was pleased with it.
