I didn't try, but I did fill a third of it, and it took us no more than 3 minutes! It did not last for 25 minutes, in my opinion. The sandclock, on the other hand, is a work of art.

I have no idea how long it is, but it is quite large. You'll need at least 1 or 2 pounds of sand to fill the bottom part.

Advantages: br>br> The inscription is well done and not just a stamp, so it will serve as a display piece for many years. As other reviews have stated, there are no glue issues. For our purposes, the size is ideal.
Cons: The cork is very loose and is only just setting on top (it will be glued in place after the ceremony to ensure it is secure). The top that covers the cork area is also loose (this will be glued after the ceremony to secure it).
The space is far too large for the purpose (wedding ceremony). The seller should think about making it smaller to make it more appealing. br>br>Overall, it appears to be good, but the N for the groom's name and month was fuzzy, and the finish is poor; you can see the glue and the paint has peeled slightly.
This is what I bought for our wedding sand ceremony. It's nice, and it's a little bigger than I expected, but the top is cheaply made, as others have mentioned. Because the hole at the top isn't very large, it would have been nice if a small funnel had been included. The top swivels around on a small wooden spool, but it easily detaches. The "hatch" lock doesn't do its job; instead, it just sits there. It's definitely just a decoration, and once the sand is inside, I don't think it could be turned upside down without spilling all over the place.
I was nervous as I awaited my package, so I read some reviews and decided to take a chance.
1. The size was larger than I had anticipated, but it was ideal for me. br>2. The glue can be seen in some places. That I am capable of resolvingbr>3. The top, which is supposed to cover the entire thing, is extremely thin. It can be glued, or I can make a new one, as stated in the reviews. br>.
Although there are some minor flaws, and I may be overly generous in awarding four stars, I still adore this and believe it will be ideal for my unity sand ceremony. Our wedding date appears to have been partially duplicated due to a printing error. Also, the glue used to reinforce the pegs is very visible and does not match the white, but I like how the hole in the hour glass can be hidden by the wood lid. I think I'll just try to get rid of as much of the glue as I can, then paint over the duplicated printing with another coat of white paint.
It was well-made and arrived promptly. After filling it with sand, all that was left to do was glue the stopper and top.
Overall, it's a good value for the money, and it arrived in just two days after I placed my order. br>Use caution when opening the lid- Not a hinge as you might expect, but a swivel to the side opens it.
The engraving came out beautifully, and I can't wait to use it for the unity ceremony at my wedding in August.
