Is it possible to include both horizontal and vertical 5x7 photos in the album so that it does not need to be turned to see the pictures properly?

Only one vertical image can be displayed on each page. Because the book isn't particularly large, turning it to see the pictures isn't difficult.

What type of pages are there inside, and how do the pictures stay put?

Unless you use your own adhesive, the photos will slide around. They're single 5x7 pages with space (and lines) in the inner margin to write a description of the photograph.

All of my photos are 5x7", and this held them in either orientation, though the landscape orientation is only partially covered by the flap, but it is secure and protected. It appeals to me.
