They're 2 7/8" apart, almost 3" on center for the punches but not quite, and the holes aren't evenly spaced like a 3-hole punch. If it helps, use a hole punch.
Because there are only two punches, the holes are set to be exactly 2 3/4" apart, and there are only two punches, there are only two holes, each 2 3/4" apart. Not ideal for punching three holes, in my opinion.
On the right side, there's a silver piece that needs to be flipped up, as well as a plastic blockage that needs to be removed. I'm guessing this plastic thing is for shipping, because I can usually punch about 10 to 15 pages at a time. If that doesn't work, you can always Google the product and ask how to expand for multiple pages, and it will show you.

This hole-in-the-wall device should be so simple! There are metal bits in the punch that aren't needed ("guides?"). When trying to slide the paper into place to punch the holes, they get in the way. As a result, you must slow down and carefully guide the paper into the device, or at the very least try several times if you're moving quickly, and it takes an eternity to get the paper properly into the device so that the holes can be punched neatly. If you're not careful and just try to swipe the paper in quickly, the metal bits may prevent the sheets from going in evenly, causing you to punch your holes at the very edge of the sheet, where they won't allow your paper to stay in the binder. This is without a doubt the most vexing crater. I've never used a punching bag before.
QUALITY IS VERY LOW. NON- CAN BE RETURNED I despise writing bad reviews; However, in this case, I believe the consumer requires protection, or else they will order it and be unable to return it. br>br>FIRST, the punch did not come with a paper guide; SECOND (I needed to use it right away and went to the trouble of measuring the hole placement), it works SO POORLY that each punch was a lesson in patience. The papers wouldn't come loose after being punched because the pins didn't retract far enough to release them. Three sheets, two sheets, and one sheet were the options I tried. The holes tore in some cases because the pins did not release them, causing them to tear. THIRD, this punch can handle up to 26 sheets of paper, according to the description. There's no way more than three sheets of paper will fit between the pins. FOURTH, when I went to Amazon to return it, it said it was NON RETURNABLE in the descriptor. br>br>MANY THANKS TO AMAZON FOR CREDITING THE PURCHASE PRICE TO ME!.
It's great that there's a tray to catch the holes in! I didn't realize it at the time, but I punched 12 sheets instead of 10 and everything worked out perfectly. It's small enough to fit in a drawer or keep on a desk. This is something I would strongly recommend to anyone who does not need to perforate large amounts of paper. I'd like to add that the packaging was excellent, as I have physical limitations that prevent me from lifting large boxes. The stapler and hole punch were packaged in a convenient padded envelope that was easy to open and didn't require a second trash pickup! THANK YOU SO MUCH!.
The key phrase here is "light duty. " I wouldn't recommend it for use in an office, but it's fine for use at home with a few sheets (no more than ten at a time).
For home use, I wanted a simple, durable puncher. I have a stapler from this company that has served me well for the past 20 years, so I decided to stick with them for my home needs. I'm extremely happy.
In fact, I'm returning this one and ordering something else because the product I received was brand new in the box, but it had two major flaws: The noise inside the unit began with a rattling. Second, the paper measuring bar was not present and was not included in the package. To center my papers, I had to fold them in half and then line up the folded center with a hole punch marking.
