This Officemate is number three. There is only one guide for the hole punch: It can, however, be changed. I frequently insert odd-sized pieces of paper into my folders, and this guide allows me to center the three holes. It maintains the order of my folders.
This punch can cut 30 sheets of 20lb paper with ease.
For regular legal size 8 paper, use a three-hole punch. The paper should be 5 x 11 instead of 9 x 12. Solicit information from the vendor.

To put it plainly, It has a locking clip that makes it easy to fold. br>br>The one feature I wish it had was the ability to lock the sliding bar in a traditional/standard hole punching position.

After my heavy duty three hole punch wore out after 30 years, I decided to replace it with this one. It isn't quite as heavy-duty as my previous one, but it does a good job of cutting holes.
