The material pulled through and was ragged when I tried it on a light weight cotton. However, by placing a piece of heavy paper beneath the fabric, the hole punched out much better. I made use of the punch's included paper backing. It's not as thick as cardboard, but it's thicker than watercolor paper. This is similar to poster board, and I hope it helps. Donna
I've made use of the Crop- A Dile with book covers that are hard bound. It was a huge success. Memory Keeper eyelets were used for this project.
You can do it! I've completed the task, and it works perfectly!
Yes, it has worked on everything I've tried.

However, no matter how slowly or quickly I pressed the blocks together, my eyelets were all split and crushed on the back side when I used the instructions' settings for 1/8" eyelets (Blocks C and 3). I came up with a solution after doing some research: To completely avoid tears, use blocks C and 4 on 1/8" eyelets. For reference, I'll attach a photograph to my review. br>br>Hole punches work well and produce a nice smooth hole, but keep an eye on where the pieces fly (and they WILL fly)! When I looked in the mirror after completing a large project, I noticed three punched-out holes. I've got holes in my hair, and I'm not happy about it. However, I regard it as a source of amusement rather than a source of concern.
It works great for grommets with washers, but I had to buy new grommet pliers (shown) to do the self-backing ones because the Crop-It worked so badly. Dial. They have a jagged appearance. Instead of being all curled up like the other eyelett pliers, they just look smooshed a little. "The back side may be bent, or curled non-permanently," they even say in the instructions. in the same way This is to be expected. " I've got some good news for them: I used their grommets. It is NOT normal to appear in that manner. The other grommet pliers always curl them up nicely, no matter how many times I try (and waste a lot of the grommets I bought from them trying), but the self-backing ones never do. It works fine if you use the ones with washers, and I think they look great, but if you want to do the self backing, you'll need to use the ones without washers. You should get something else if you want them to have smooth backs, particularly if you're sewing.
I'm in love with my Crop- dile!br>I bought it to use on keychains and tags that I make out of vinyl. br>Most grommet setters are made up of several pieces, require the use of a hammer, and are only available in one size. The Crop- dile can make 1/8 and 3/16 eyelets (or 3 and 4 mm grommets), which is useful if a project requires a slightly larger size. br>The instructions are simple to follow and include pictures to assist in selecting the correct settings on the Crop-it. It also has a small illustration on the tool to help you remember which way to put the grommets in, which is very helpful at first. br>The grommets I found on Amazon have been perfect for my crop-top. dilebr>br> dilebr> dilebr> dilebr> dileb.
The product title and description are the source of my annoyance. I got the Crop-It-Yourself kit. Dile is designed specifically for the installation of metal snaps. After squandering time and money attempting to figure out how to use this tool for snaps, I discovered that it does not work. Hopefully, the product title and description will be updated to reflect the true purpose of this tool. It currently reads "Crop- "EMBELLISH ANY PROJECT: Dile Eyelet and Snap Punch" and "EMBELLISH ANY PROJECT: Dile Eyelet and Snap Punch" are two of my favorites. The Crop- Dile lets you embellish any craft project with eyelets, grommets, and other embellishments. ".
While it did the job, it required a lot of hand strength and force, was a little clumsy, and it was easy to lose the various dies needed to apply different sizes of snaps. br>br>This tool is a dream compared to that! While it may appear to be a bit heavy, it is well-made and well-designed. The hole punch with centimeter and inch markings, as well as a marker to keep track of your place, was brilliant. I couldn't believe how easy it was to squeeze the handles the first time I went to punch a hole in my fabric. I was prepared to put everything into it because of the snap pliers, but they closed as quickly as a stapler. By the time I got to the second hole, I had figured out how to set the guide to keep my position. Rather than using the chalk dots I had drawn on my fabric, I used the guide, which resulted in perfectly aligned dots. Following the markings on the tool made it simple to turn the dies for the size and type of eyelets I was using. (I read the instructions as well, but we all know they'll get misplaced at some point, so the markings on the tool are useful. ) ) I squeezed and the eyelet was set once I had everything lined up. My eyelets were sewn onto a threaded corset that I had worn several times. No eyelets have ever popped out of the fabric or tore away from it. The locking feature is also useful because it will prevent my children from playing with it while it is being stored. br>br>I'm very pleased with this product, and I now have a reliable tool to use when setting eyelets on other projects.
It moves in a very fluid manner. It's what I use to make cards with. It gives the final product a lovely appearance. This well-made tool comes highly recommended from me. I've included a photo of the first of many cards currently in the works.
The 3/16" eyelets are covered in this review. Because I don't have 1/8" on hand, I can't comment. br>br>I use eyelets on their own as well as eyelets with washers. It is completely ineffective. It splits the eyelet or crushes the entire thing with the washer. Instead, I used my old Dritz Pliers, which you can see in the photo(s) next to the other one. To be honest/clear, I have cheaper eyelets/washers from years ago, so I'm not sure if it makes a difference whether I buy their brand or a more expensive brand. br>br>I bought this primarily for the hole puncher, which works perfectly. Just for that use, I have to give it five stars. Another issue is that the opening is so small that it was difficult to accomplish much even with my small fingers. You can tell there's a difference between the two. As a result, working with fabric can be challenging. I used to have the larger version of this brand and had the same issues, so I believe it's just the way it's made. Later, I'll try to get some 1/8" in order to update this review.
