I bought this to glue RC planes, but it caught fire

A fire broke out after it was used for the first time. After opening it up, I discovered that it appeared to be a short between two of the wires near the tip of the gun. I would think that, considering that it's a hot glue gun, it would have some better heat resistance. Please let me upload pictures if I'm able.

I wanted a small glue gun so my 9 year old could create cardboard sculptures with it. I'm pleased that this one can put me at a low temperature and works well. The fact that it wasn't pink or lavender like other mini glue guns appealed to him.
