Questions & Answers

Is there any way to use this as an embossing ink?

Because this is a clear embossing ink, it must be used in conjunction with embossing powder.

Is it possible to use embossing powder with this?

Yes, it is possible. As far as I'm aware, embossing ink serves this purpose.

Is it possible for this ink to adhere to metal?

It's the first time I've tried it on metal.

Is this something that can be washed away with water?

I honestly have no idea, but I adore it!

This ink is versatile and can be used with embossing powder
5/5

It also goes a long way! Almost all you'll need is ink! This is a fantastic embossing ink that can be used in a variety of ways. It can be used to make stamps, stencils, or simply to write with (using a brush). It came with a dauber on top, but I untangled it first. I'm going to throw it away (I'm not going to use it). In the bottle, I usually keep a water color brush. For embossing, I do my own hand lettering. This ink is a great deal for the amount you get (especially when compared to the cost of one embossing pen with only 1/5 of the ink). I'm confident that this bottle will last me for a long time. PS: The only thing I didn't like about it was that the ink (no matter how thick or high-quality it was) was always smeared. On the back, the quality of the paper (or lack thereof) is always visible. PPS: This ink, a brush, and a camera were used to create all of the images below. embossing powder is a type of embossing powder that is used to.

Terrible
3/5

I rarely write negative reviews unless the product is truly awful, and this one is truly awful. I've been embossing with VersaMark, and it's great: sticky, takes a long time to dry, and doesn't absorb easily into cardstock. As a refill for the VersaMark ink pad, I was looking for a less expensive option. Before I tampered with my VersaMark pad, I experimented with glycerine as an alternative, but it just spreads on the cardstock and doesn't hold its embossing power very well. So that was a waste of time for me as a DIY hack. Then I came across this 2 oz bottle of Stampendous' boss gloss clear embossing ink. I placed an order for it and eagerly anticipated its arrival. When it did, I was struck by how thin the liquid was. I stamped one image with embossing ink directly on my circle stamp, then reapplied the embossing ink and stamped again, for a total of four circle images. The cardstock absorbed the liquid almost instantly. I kept stamping, but the embossing ink was quickly absorbed, so I ended up using a sponge dauber applicator to apply the ink directly on top of my stamped circles. The embossing ink left a very visible watermark on the cardstock, but VersaMark didn't. After that, I poured embossing powder over the stamped images, but only a thin layer of embossing powder was adhered to the board. br>br>The glycerine in my possession is thicker than Stampendous embossing ink. In fact, the Stampendous embossing ink has the consistency of diluted glycerine, which is what I use to clean my stamps in a spray bottle. br>br>I'm extremely dissatisfied with this product, and I'm forced to purchase the teeny-tiny VersaMark ink refill.

I figured out how to make this work for me
4/5

First and foremost, both positive and negative feedback were taken into account. I had spent far too much money on art supplies and wanted to save a few dollars, so I took a chance. br>I was initially dissatisfied. Because I prefer to stamp or freehand apply, the dauber top seemed to be a deal breaker. I took the top off the bottle and dipped the felt and brush tips into it, but that didn't work out either. It was difficult to get the exact amount of medium I needed for a good powder layer. So, where do you go from here? br>I replaced the dauber top and pressed it into a small paper cup a few times before swishing a brush around and applying it to the paper. I put a smidgeon of color on the brush to see where I'm applying it, and voila, my application was precise and the embossing powder adhered flawlessly. Only a small amount of this is required to achieve a beautiful embossing! I haven't tried it on a rubber stamp yet, but now that I know how to control the very small amount of embossing required, I can see how doing it this way will last a long time and give me an extra easy step.

It is not to be squeezed
3/5

Edited later: It received a three-star rating from me. Because of my mistake, the product should not be given a low rating. After all, the ink had washed out of my clothes, and I'm just glad it wasn't black ink. If I try again, I'll remove the dauber top while keeping the product upright, as others have done! br>br>I had no idea it had a dauber on top. I needed to draw and write freehand with it, so I squeezed the bottle to see if the ink would spill into a container. When the top popped off, ink splattered all over my clothes and furniture. It ruined a brand new dress that I had foolishly chosen to wear. Because all of the ink is gone, I can't say how well it would have worked. My advice is to not squeeze the bottle; it was a complete disaster, which I believe was my fault.

Working with him is difficult
3/5

It was extremely difficult to work with this product. It's very thin and dries too quickly, and saturating the stamp was difficult. I'm not likely to purchase this type of embossing ink again because, to make matters worse, the entire top fell off, spilling embossing ink all over my work!.

In terms of embossing, it's a game changer
5/5

This has completely changed the way I emboss! When I used pigment inks and powder before, if I made a mistake, the pigment ink made it permanent and ruined the entire project; however, with this clear ink, you can scrape off any embossing powder if your stamp isn't perfect without the ink staining the paper. I get extremely crisp stamps with even the tiniest details, allowing the embossing powder to highlight the details. as well. without the pigment inks bleeding through or the details bleeding.

Embossing Ink Performs as It Should I started by getting rid of the dauber because I couldn't get it to work and was afraid it would fall out
4/5

Check out the customer feedback. Aside from that, it performs similarly to other embossing inks at a much lower cost. If I could have gotten the dauber to work, it would have been a five-star rating.
