" I'm 70 years old. Buying this stylus set reminded me that there are tools (no matter how basic) that can help you do a job better than "the old fashioned way. " " I do large-scale wood burning (3 ft. x 3 ft. x 3 ft. x 3 ft up to 4 ft x 5 ft x 8 ft. panels. Transferring an intricate design, such as 17th and 18th century copper engravings, onto the wood with a standard pencil has served me well for the last 50 years, but I'm pretty sure I've sharpened enough pencils to leave a mound of shavings the size of the Pyramids behind me. br>br>When this set arrived, I was eager to put each stylus, styli?, in its proper place. , putting it to the test Wow! I don't think I've ever used the word - if ever. The level of comfort was the first thing that caught my attention. The ease with which the pattern could be transferred from the paper/graphite tissue to the wood was the second advantage. My fingers started acting out the main plot of "The Red Shoes" - without all the sweating and death But, to stick with my analogy, it was love at first sight, or in this case, first feel. br>br>Now that I've used up my pencils, I'd say this set was well worth the money. Now the question is what to do with the shavings pile.
I had to glue two of the tips back in the handles because they were too small for my precise work. One of the tips was already out of the handle when I got the set. In that sense, there is a lack of quality control.
I decided it was time to replace all of my wooden styles because they were completely worn out. These are incredible. They're a lot easier to hold than the wooden-handled ones, and the variety of ball tips is ideal for making beautiful dots on my craft paintings and transferring patterns onto wood with graphite paper. br>It's a good price for a good product.
As others have mentioned, the tips were either completely unglued or falling out when they arrived. I was let down. I was able to gorilla glue a couple of them, but I can't seem to locate the tip on one of them. I shouldn't buy anything that needs to be fixed as soon as it arrives.
I bought the soft-serve ice cream. embossing with the grip Score craft cardstock with this stylus set. The round ball on the stylus was what caught my eye. When scoring the cardstock, the round ball is less likely to tear it. The chrome piece of the stylus with the round ball on the end fell out of the main body (soft-touch) the first time I removed it from the package. portion of the stylus (grip) I had to reassemble it with super glue. The product is a little light and flimsy (not exactly what I was expecting), but it does the job. When pressure is applied to the ball end of the stylus, it creates a smooth score that does not tear the cardstock.
What a fantastic item to have on hand for so many different purposes. They do, however, produce very clean embossing incised lines. There are six different tips to choose from, each with a different line width. They're also useful for cleaning or making small items because they don't shred the paper if you don't press too hard on them. There's no end to its utility.
I discovered that one of the metal stylus ends was missing when I opened the package. I looked for it in the package and discovered it. I then pulled on each of the others to see if they would come out easily, and two more did. I'll glue them in, and they'll probably suffice. They do have a nice assortment of 6 different sizes and smooth, polished, and rounded ends. br>br>I'm not the first customer to complain about this defect. br>br>They do have a nice assortment of 6 different sizes and smooth, polished, and rounded ends. br>br> They feel good in the hand and will suffice if you don't mind repairing something new.
I just used it for the first time yesterday, when I needed to dab some craft paint on a couple of small spots on my project where the paint had come off when I sanded the entire surface. The end of the stylus simply dropped out after a couple of dabs. This appears to be a common complaint based on other reviews. I'm not sure why the manufacturer didn't address and correct this, but I don't recommend this set!.
