How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

Pens have a specially formulated ink that stays wet on paper and provides the tack required to attract and retain embossing powders until they are cured with heat.
Scrapbooking, rubber stamping, paper crafting, and altered arts are just a few of the possibilities.

Questions & Answers

Is the primary goal of this product to create sketches with raised walls to keep inks from bleeding? (please accept my gratitude)?

This is a heat embossing ink that is sticky. Simply draw your line(s), then emboss with embossing powder and heat. It'll become gleaming. Embossing pads (rather than pens) are typically used to apply the sticky, clear ink to a stamp, stamp with it, then pour on embossing powder and heat for a slightly raised, shiny look.

Have these ever been used with a Cricut Explore?

It's perfect for Cricut Explore Air 2 and Maker users. Just make sure you've got a tasty pen with you.

I can see how I'd use a clear embossing pen, but what about a black embossing pen?

In the same way, if you want to write some words, it is easier to do so in black on.

I'm curious about the ink's thickness. ?

It's not too heavy. Versamark isn't quite as clever. It's great for touch-ups and putting emboss ink where an ink pad won't fit. If the emboss isn't thick enough, you can apply two coats. Try a different product if you want a really thick emboss; it'll work just fine.

Perfect for embossing details or creating your own designs, as well as repairing scratches and mistakes
5/5

These pens are ideal for embossing and drawing detailed images. embossing your own designs or handwriting, as well as repairing any knicks or scratches in a larger embossed piece (craft tweezers, anyone?). br>br>When I first started dabbling in papercrafts about 8 years ago, I bought these pens. It's been nine months. I had no idea I needed an anti-oxidant back then. Because I didn't have a static powder tool of any kind, all of my attempts with these were a disaster. I was cleaning out some of my craft storage boxes a few days ago and considered throwing these pens away, but they were still brand new. They weren't even close to being dry. I had a few panels of tedious experiments lying around, so I decided to give these pens another chance. I'll see what I can do with a few of those panels to make them more interesting. I was very pleased with the outcome this time. I've included a photo of the first piece on which I used the pen. This is a watercolor painting. dry- The henna design was embossed, and it was dull, dull, dull. After highlighting a portion of the raised design with this pen's clear version, With the addition of some embossing powder, the piece became interesting enough to be mounted on a card - At least, that's what I thought! )br>br>I did notice, however, that the ink in these pens appears to dry a little faster than the ink pad - possibly due to the fact that the ink you're using with the pen is much thinner. layer that is finer If you're doing more than a few words of text, you'll have to stop and heat emboss in sections before moving on to the next. I used an 8-bit image for this example. There are ten parts to the book. I've since gone to town with these pens, embossing all kinds of details (by the way, using this pen on the highlights of your Altenew flowers instead of an embossing inkpad results in a crisper, clearer image), and the pens haven't run dry yet, so they appear to last quite a while. br>br>I've tried this technique using a glue pen in the past (e. g. , Zig Squeeze, and Quickie Glue Roller Pen Roll, etc. ), and they all work well if I only need to do a small dot or doodle; When I tried to draw a consistent line or wanted a consistent thickness, they were all a little inconsistent and skipped or blobbed. I get a smoother and more consistent finish with this embossing pen because it's a marker. Using this pen instead of an embossing ink pad makes it much easier to correct mistakes or tweezer marks on a large embossed image.

For paper and other materials, this is ideal
5/5

I didn't like it at first because one of the pens was broken. I eventually returned it, but the manufacturer was gracious enough to allow me to keep it and replace it with a new set. So far, I'm really impressed with the quality. For the detailed embossing you might need these for, the tips are nice and fine. They should stay moist for a long time and not dry out before you can even apply the embossing powder. I used them on tiles as well as paper, and they worked perfectly. I'd buy them again in a heartbeat. The black predominates, with the white coming in second.

It was well worth the money, and it performed admirably
5/5

These embossing pens are fantastic! I was unsure if it would work on my marble tile, which I'm getting ready to sell on Etsy (LetterZen), but it did just fine! The powder adhered well to the pen, and I was pleased with how smooth the embossing was. Personally, I prefer the clear one because it allows the gold to stand out more, but the black one is equally effective! I'm really looking forward to trying out some brush embossing pens. I would strongly recommend this product, and the price is fantastic!.

I've used other embossing pens in the past and they've done a good job
3/5

I'm not sure if it's the pen or my technique, but this is the first time I've ever had such a problem. The embossing powder did not adhere to the paper very well. I shook off the excess and reapplied it because there didn't appear to be much on it the first time, and the embossing powder looked blotchy and bumpy when I used the heat embosser. I'm aware that the attached image is sloppy, but that was a separate problem. I didn't feel like I could shake off the excess powder well enough, or else the powder on the letters would just fall off, making the entire project sloppy. Maybe, just maybe, it'll improve with more use, or maybe I'll need to try a different color or non-metallic embossing powder.

One of the two pens was completely dry, which was a huge let down
3/5

I thought I'd love these pens and that they'd be great for embossing if I missed a spot, but I didn't open them until after the return period had ended, and one of the markers had dried. I don't mean a little dry; I'm talking about completely dry. I hate giving negative feedback, but if others receive theirs in the same condition as mine, this is not a good product. However, I also tried Ranger's embossing ink pad, which disappointed me as well. Perhaps they should avoid embossing until they have a firm grasp on the products.

Use in a scrapbook
5/5

I just got these for scrapbooks last week. On a black scrapbook folder, I used the clear pen and then sprinkled white craft powder on top. When the rest of the embossing powder was removed, all that was left was a perfect image of what I'd written on the dark paper the first time. I didn't have to rush because the ink takes a long time to dry, which was exactly what I needed. br> After highlighting a glossy magazine for work, I used the black pen to date and title pages in the book. With a thick stroke and clear edging, the ink adhered well to both surfaces. The clear pen complemented my scrapbook title page, while the black pen smudged-free on both glossy and regular paper. An additional benefit: The black ink on one side did not bleed through to the other.

These embossing pens, on the other hand, worked well and looked nice, though they did stain a little
4/5

I've only used Ranger products, so I can't comment on other brands, but these embossing pens worked well and were pleasant to use! They did stain a little into each other (i. e. If I used clear on top of the black for some reason), which was a little annoying but understandable given that it's ink. After a few uses, it became a little dry, but that went away after I stopped using it for a while. These are great, inexpensive pens that I would recommend to anyone interested in trying heat embossing!.
