This is the embossing powders; the line about hydrating comes from the Lindy's Spray inks description. They just don't check to make sure they're describing the correct product, which is an embossing powder that doesn't require any water.
Yes, embossing powders can be used with any pigment ink or wet medium, and then heated to melt the embossing powder. The stamped image will appear raised as a result.
Two- The term "toned" refers to the presence of two distinct colors. You'll find a base color and a different shimmer color in embossing powder.

The colors aren't as bright as they appear on the website. This set was created with the intention of making Thanksgiving invitations. The olive green was one of the colors I was most excited to use. This set is completely devoid of green. br>I was extremely dissatisfied. Even the tube Autumn Leaves set mentions it. Midnight teal is the name of a blue. I'm going to have to return them. br>I had a great experience dealing with Amazon customer service.
I was worried at first that this would turn out like tinsel embossing powder, which looks like sparse glitter when embossed, but it turned out fine after embossing. The main issue is that a very fine coating of pigment sticks to the paper and won't come off (even when the paper has been properly prepped with an embossing buddy). It's so small that removing it with brushes and microbrushes takes an inordinate amount of time. Every time I use this product, I have ZERO time and ZERO desire to do this, and it occurs on slick papers, regular cardstock, and everything else. See pics.
Other reviewers have mentioned that this powder set isn't the cleanest to work with. I agree. I bought one of those small embossing pillows and use it to dust off my item before embossing, which helps to some extent, but there are always pieces scattered where I don't want them. Fortunately, the scattered pieces aren't a problem for me, but if you need the powder to be exactly where it should be, you might want to reconsider using this set.
Because this powder is so fine, it leaves behind a residue that is nearly impossible to remove before using the heat gun - As a result, you'll end up with sparkles in unexpected places. In addition, the final colors differ significantly from the unheated colors - darker and more powerful.
I love everything about this product; the colors are amazing, and it's very simple to use. Whether you're a pro or a beginner, this product adds a little something extra to your creations, and it's definitely worth it; plus, a little goes a long way.
When the air from the heat tool hits these powders, they don't stay on. They simply vanish. The colors have been described as drop dead gorgeous" and I agree 100% with that description. These are truly stunning hues. All I want is for them to stay put.
I'm always on the lookout for new art supplies, and these haven't let me down. Just make sure the lids are properly closed because they are quite tight! These are fantastic for using in mixed media projects.
The residue is so fine that brushing it off without ruining the powdered area where I planned to use the heat gun is impossible. Before purchasing this, I should have carefully read the other reviews.
