There are no glitter or sparkles in it. It's made up of tan, copper, and gold-colored granules with a pearl-like finish. When embossed, the result is similar to that of a metallic finish.
When used in medicine, the abbreviation fir ounce is a large O and a small z, which is most likely where this came from.
Yes, it is 1 oz; it was probably a mistake.
I use Hero Arts gold embossing powder for all of my gold embossing. It's not dark; instead, it's a lovely rich gold that's quite bright. It isn't glitter, so it doesn't sparkle. This powder is a must-have in any collection!

When I discovered that this embossing powder is transparent, I was disappointed. On dark papers, you won't be able to see it. On white or light-colored paper, I'm sure it'll work fine. Because most people expect opaque, the description should state that it is transparent. UPDATE: I noticed that the color in the container is much darker than it appears. It starts out bright red and turns a dark maroon color once heated. So, whether it's opaque or transparent (I'm not sure), it's too dark a color to use on dark paper after it's heated. On light paper, it looks fine, but it's not the same color as the container.
One of the first embossing powders I purchased was this one. I'm a big fan of the color - When heat embossed, the bright, vibrant red becomes darker. BUT - I really like this product. I found it on 1-for-half-price for half the price. 3 Stitch! They have excellent prices on embossing powders, and shipping is very reasonable if you order multiple items.
I wanted to give some shrink art pieces a subtle sparkle, so I mixed this with equal parts clear embossing powder. When the light hits the sparkles, they flash blue, green, and purple, but they don't obscure the artwork. When I run out, I'll be sure to order more. It's just that I wish it came in a bigger jar.
In comparison to older units, it appears to be quite small. Because I've been sick, I haven't been able to do a thorough review. I have no reason to believe it reacts any differently than older products of this type, so I'm confident in assuming it's a fantastic product (which I hope it is, because this is a fantastic company). I'm giving it a 5 based on history in order to fulfill your review request because I'm confident they make a fantastic product.
One of my favorite things to do is embossing powders that I use all the time! Not only is Hero Arts' quality excellent, but the white satin pearl is stunning! I've never had a bad embossing experience with Hero Arts products, and this color is stunning on both dark and light cardstock.
I used to have another brand that made thin lettering look jagged and gapped, but this one doesn't. The crispness and clarity of thin letters is unsurpassed.
Hint: (This is not the case). This, on the other hand, is NOT the case. very- Crafters adore Hero Arts' WHITE embossing powder, which is widely regarded as one of the best white embossing powders on the market. Yes, that image appears to be in black and white. clear that isn't gleaming or glistening But, my fellow crafty crafter, don't be fooled into buying a clear that you probably already have a lot of, as I did. When I bought it in July of 2015, it didn't say "Clear" anywhere in the three sections of information. Only Ultra Fine is available. Ultra fine comes in a variety of colors, as most crafters are aware. As a result, you'll need to go to the location where Simon says to stamp; ) to track down the genuine article in white.
