They are effective for me.
I suppose that's true. What is the strength of a t-shirt? Is it really "necessary" to have a shirt insert? I've seen people make t-shirts out of tissue paper. As a result, the shirt insert. If you take about 20 sheets of regular printer paper, you'll get about 20 pages. That should give you an idea of how thick this chipboard is.
This is . The thickness of the material is 022", which is equal to 0. 5588mm
These, I believe, would be ineffective for your needs. These are used as a rigid backing for my photographs.

I buy this stuff on a regular basis and cut amazing shapes out of it with my Cricut Maker. As a miniaturist, I appreciate how affordable it is, and how indistinguishable it is from wood once hardened with superglue.
My 200-person group arrived on time and in good condition. packaged, uniform in length, and brown cardboard (the orangey color in the second photo is due to lighting). I use these when sending out flat mailers for my Etsy shop, and the feedback I've gotten so far on the packaging has been positive.
I've been looking for a less expensive option with free shipping, and I was hoping to find one with prime shipping. I struck it rich when I came across these! They're actually quite thick, which makes them ideal for keeping mail flat. This is a fantastic product at an even better price. I'm going to buy a lot more!.
These are adequate for the task at hand, but the sheets are a little thin. I use them as mailing inserts and as padding when cutting stacks of paper. Not quite thick enough to use as a mailing insert/stiffener.
The packaging of the product for shipping was excellent. I had anticipated a slightly thicker cardboard, but that was my fault, not the vendor's. The cardboard is of good quality and can be used to draw and cut out patterns. When mailing photos or pictures, it can be used as an extra layer. This order was delivered within a short period of time.
80 sheets for the price of 200 sheets is a fantastic deal! You'll have to accept that the chipboard won't be perfect; it won't be cut perfectly, so you'll have to lose some chipboard length to square it up. The color is a little different each time. Having said that, it was still a fantastic purchase.
This is an excellent backing board that is well-made. I sell art and am constantly shipping things out in stiff envelopes, so the price and large quantity in a box are ideal for me. The backing board aids in maintaining the flatness of the artwork.
This is what we use to protect the contents of our poly mailers. They're perfect for it. We installed one to prevent paper envelopes (which were being shipped) from bending inside the poly mailers. To make a pocket, we fold the bottom in half and tape it. br>This is more for show than for protection, as I don't require it.
