I believe the cinch will not punch through this chipboard because it is quite thick. I haven't tried a cinch yet, but it would have to be very strong to get through this material. My suggestion is to draw a line on the chipboard where the cinch would punch the holes, and then use a crop-tool to cut the holes out. To punch out the holes, use a dile or another stronger hole puncher. A crop- This chipboard will not be a problem for dile.
The whole thing is black.
If you have a rotary trimmer, you might be able to cut through this thick chipboard by running it over it a few times. To cut it, I bought a heavy-duty trimmer (carl) and it works great without the rough edges. I tried it on my blade-style trimmer, and it cut it, but it wasn't very precise because the chipboard bent and moved.
I believe there are twenty-five of them.

With the Fiskars rail trimmer, I had no trouble cutting it; A guillotine would also suffice. It's a LOT thicker than I thought it would be. Due to the separation and the project's appearance of being junky, I only gave it one star. If it weren't for the fact that it was now open, I would return.
So I purchased this in order to make custom Tumbler boxes. My Cameo 3's deep cut blade, however, does not cut through this, despite the fact that it should. A cameo 4 is definitely required! But I'll be able to use it; all I have to do now is get a "paper cutter" and reassemble the boxes. br>br>This is black all the way through, very sturdy (I can't even get a 2mm blade to cut more than half way through and it should cut it) br>br>Definitely a good choice if you're looking to make custom boxes.
The layers peel apart far too easily, just as in previous reviews. The brown recycled bag-looking ones are not as well bonded or pressed. This might be a good find for scrapbookers or some shoddy kid's crafts, but if you're modeling or making something important, I'd recommend getting these.
My plan was to use this as the cover and then use cardstock for the pages. I wasn't let down in the least. This is a thick chipboard, much thicker than what you'd find in a craft store. By the way, you can't punch it; you might be able to use an exacto knife, but a regular punch isn't powerful enough. I was able to put my zutter bind-it-all to good use. However, everything seems to be working fine.
I'm very happy.
AS DESCRIBED, I was expecting chipboard. It's primarily made of card stock. This product has left me completely dissatisfied.
Shipping could afford to be more careful with its handling.
