MDF Wood Board: The wood sheets are made of medium density fiberboard and can be painted, engraved, distressed, glued, and embellished in a variety of ways.

Our chipboard sheets can also be used to protect valuable photos, artwork, and important documents while relocating homes or offices.

Each chipboard sheet is 11 x 14 inches in size, but it can easily be cut to any size or shape you want.

Questions & Answers

Is this too thick to be used as a book cover?

I'm not sure I get what you're talking about when you say "book covers." It's a rough surface here. They're what I use to tape my watercolor paper to when I'm working on it.

Is there anything that needs to be done to these before they can be painted?

Yes! These are very absorbent, and if you don't prime them, they will soak up all of your paint. I also apply two coats, sanding lightly in between. (It can take up to three coats to get it where I want it.) ) They're great for painting once they've been primed.

Is this wood conducive to sublimation?

Do you want it to be vaporized? If you mean "paint on it," I'm not sure what you're talking about Yes. I'd start by gessoing and sanding the surface.

Is an xacto knife clean enough to cut this?

No, I don't believe that is true. After all, this MDF is a quarter-inch thick- A saw will be required. Is there something I'm overlooking?

This is a watercolor painting

It's exactly what it says on the tin. Wooden strips of various thicknesses. Between the two watercolor layers, I use one layer of gesso and two layers of Daniels or Qorum watercolor ground, with one round of fine sandpaper in between. br>It'll never be as good as good watercolor paper, but it'll get you pretty close, from spread to lifting. There is no need for a frame because there is no warping.

Corners have a couple of chips

A couple of the boards had chips in the corners, but they were only a few millimeters each, so it wasn't a big deal. However, if you were to pick out individual similar boards in a store and inspect each one, a couple of the ones I received wouldn't pass the test.
