It's not only marked every 1/8", but it's also numbered. It is simple to read and understand.
My personal favorite rulers are Creative Grids. All of the other brands have been given away. They stay in place better than other rulers, but all rulers need to be pressed into place. They don't slide around as much as other brands, so there's no need for "undue pressure."
I've never received a defective one. I've had them both padded and unpadded delivered to me. There has never been a problem.
6 1/2 x 24 1/2 inches is the size. When the fabric is sewn, a 1/4" seam allowance is included on both sides.

I had to replace everything. I'm a quilter who is still learning the ropes. All of my rulers have been replaced with Creative Grids. The fabric gripping makes them much easier to read and use. I used to have issues with my other rulers sliding around, but I haven't had any issues with these. I've been using them for a few months now, and I almost always use them. br>br>I wish Creative Grids would post more videos on You Tube demonstrating how to use their specialty rulers and quilting ideas. Thank you, Missouri Star and Eleanor Burns, Nancy Zieman (and others) for teaching me how to sew on You Tube.
I started with name brand rulers, which you can purchase with 40% discount from a brick and mortar store. I started with name brand rulers, br>br>I could tell right away that my cuts weren't precise. In the meantime, I'd picked up a couple of Creative Grids from my neighborhood store. Yes, I made the mistake of cutting with different brands of rulers, but thank goodness I did. br>I quickly discovered that my name brand with coupons pales in comparison to Creative Grids. This brand will be my go-to unless I need a specialty ruler that isn't part of the CG line up. br>br>The lords and ladies of the land; So far, the items I've bought have been correct. I didn't show up with any nicks or anything else that could drive you insane. br>br>Editedbr>I'm in the process of switching to CG rulers for all of my rulers. The grip feature is something I really enjoy. I'm working on an OBW that will be more accurate than a name brand. The accuracy of the cuts is due to the grip feature. I've tried using the stickers with other rulers but haven't been able to achieve the same level of precision. As the others are replaced, a niece will receive them.
This is a fantastic product that has been well-made. It doesn't slide around when placed on paper or fabric, which I appreciate. If you're used to using 6 x 24 rulers, however, the 6. 5 x 24. 5 size (the extra half inch comes in handy for some projects), pay close attention to the measurements the first time you use it to ensure you're adjusting to the change. We have a tendency to use our tools on autopilot. With this one, take it slowly at first. It's a little unique.
I'm so glad I finally took the plunge and purchased this ruler! I'd had it with my other rulers sliding around when cutting fabric. With this one, however, that is no longer the case. On the fabric side of the ruler, there are 'rough spots' that grab and hold the fabric. Yay!.
I'm a machine quilter, and I'm sorry I put off upgrading my machine for so long. for rotary cutting to a ruler The Creative Grid lines are clearly visible, and the ruler does not smudge or slide even when lightly pressed. Many of my other rulers have thick yellow or black lines, making it difficult to make precise cuts, which are critical in quilting. The cuts are just as important as the 1/4" seam line, and I'll be replacing my other rulers in the near future.
These rulers are expensive and claim to aid in fabric cutting, but the length didn't stick to the fabric as promised, and the fabric shifted even when I moved my hand along the ruler while cutting.
When using a rotary cutter, I prefer to use Creative Grids rulers because they have textured round circles on the back that keep them in place better than other brands. When cutting fabric, you don't want any slippage, or you'll end up with a bad cut (possibly even on your finger!).
This ruler is absolutely fantastic. Because my strength isn't what it used to be after tennis elbow surgery, I've always had problems with the ruler sliding a little while cutting. This ruler has been extremely helpful, and it makes reading with my bifocals much easier.
