The colors are stunning jewel tones, but you should be aware that the strips are not all the same length. I made a flip quilt, and you can see how much the lengths varied in the photo I attached of where I sewed the strips together. So- The colors are fantastic, but the consistency is lacking.
The edges are NOT PINKED as shown in the photo, and they are shredding like crazy with minimal handling, getting stuck in my bobbin case, and peeking out to the front of the quilt top between the seams. Sewing with it is a huge pain in the neck. I wouldn't buy it again unless it was in person so I could make sure I got a roll with properly pinked cuts.
I'm having a blast using these to make throw pillows for staging our home before we put it on the market. I've been saving the ends of fat bundles that I used to make table napkins, and now I'm combining them with these strips to make all kinds of geometric patterns (wish I had a photo - for the simple reason that they are fantastic). Darker colors appeal to me because they bring out the best in the fabrics I have. I combine them with'snow' white to create a unique look. Everything blends together beautifully, leaving a softer edge from one color to the next, and the white is creamier than optic white. As a base, I machine stitch the strips to a sturdy white cotton fabric that is commonly used to back quilts. I like the way the fabric feels, how easy it is to handle and sew, and how nice it looks in the finished product; I've had a lot of fun experimenting with color, fabric patterns, and geometric patterns. It's amazing how changing one color for another with hues that are so close on the wheel can create such a different look.
It APPEARS to be a good plan - "When I make that next quilt, I'll have a lot of color options" - just take a moment to reflect: Each color will be limited to one unit. Except if you're making a rainbow quilt, of course. This was a blunder of an investment. It was a good lesson.
The colors are exactly as they appear in the picture. Although it took a long time to arrive, I still have time to finish the baby quilt.
I'm new to quilting and was advised to make a Jelly Roll quilt because of the high quality of the fabric and the variety of colors available.
The color is fantastic. So far, I've purchased three and will continue to do so.
The colors I used were not captured well by my camera; however, the fabric is of excellent quality. This will be my fourth time using this product to make a lone star quilt.
