Hello, a DRY IRON can be used on any surface, including a tabletop, dryer, or countertop. Place the STEAM mat on a protected surface if you're using it, because moisture can seep through the mat and harm the surface beneath it.
Hello, you can cut the ironing mat to fit your ironing board with scissors or simply use it on the tabletop.
Yes, it's 100% New Zealand wool from New Zealand wool from New Zealand wool from New Z
On a wool pressing mat, I wouldn't recommend using steam. The wool acts as a heat sink, whereas the iron acts as a heat source. Without using steam, you can pin your blocks to the wool mat and iron them to block.

Ugh! It's a pity. I've been sewing for more than 30 years and have always wished for a wool pad. I didn't know anyone who might have one, and I didn't want to risk it. I saw a few people mention the stuff on their irons, but I was so desperate for the mat that I overlooked it. I even dismissed the lady's review, which stated that it ruined her quilt, which you better believe I did. It also ruined my quilt. If you iron directly on the mat, you'll notice a black buildup fairly quickly. It can be difficult to remove it from your iron, but with a little elbow grease, I was able to remove the black sludge-like material with Rowenta cleaner. My quilt, on the other hand, has not fared so well, and I'm trying to figure out why. First, I noticed that if you iron directly on top of the fabric without letting your iron touch the mat, you will be fine; however, most of us iron past the edge of our pieces, which is where the slow buildup on the iron starts. I didn't notice the build-up until I was finished ironing my quilt top and saw black streaks on it. My iron had black stuff on it, which I noticed right away. I'll see what I can do about getting it back to you. It did flatten the pieces, but I tried several times to make sure the buildup was caused by the mat.
I had previously read about wool pressing mats but had not given them much thought. After reading a blog post by a paper piecer who raved about the wool mat, I decided to place an order. I'm amazed at how much of a difference a wool mat can make! I was taken aback. It will help me save a lot of time. How did I not think of this before? It's the perfect size for a small TV table next to my machine/desk or on the ironing board. br>I think this one was a good deal, and the quality is excellent.
This little wool ironing pad is one of my favorites. I was constantly going back and forth to the ironing board to iron a small piece of fabric because I did a lot of crafts. This is such a time saver! I purchased a small craft iron that works perfectly on it. I'm not sure why I didn't get these things sooner. This is a purchase that you will not be sorry for making. If you buy this ironing pad, you will not be disappointed.
Because of its size, the 17 x 17 is ideal for keeping next to your machine, but I would opt for the 17 x 24 size next time because it is ideal for pressing fat quarters. Except when pressing something much larger, I now use this mat for all of my pressing. This mat produces extremely flat and concise units and blocks, and the wool smell fades with use. It may be a little overwhelming at first, but don't let that stop you from purchasing this excellent pressing mat. After a while, my mat has become almost disorderly.
This size is ideal for keeping next to the machine because it is thick and large. The only change I'd like to see is for them to remove their logo and place it on the side; the logo is made from the same stuff that goes on the front of cheap t-shirts, and it irritates my iron!.
I design and sew on a daily basis, so when I saw this item mentioned specifically for quilters, I knew I needed this Wool Pressing Mat for my clothing. The heat from the iron is retained by the mat, resulting in crisp, flat seams. Without this pressing mat, I'd be totally lost! Some companies charged more for the same quality and size, but I highly recommend this item to sewing and quilting enthusiasts; it's a fantastic product!! Thank you for keeping your high-quality Wool Mat on the market at such a low price during these trying times.
When I looked at it, I realized that the mat would be more space efficient than the ironing board (I'm putting it on the same "mini folding table" that I would have put the ironing board on), especially when not in use. It's the perfect size for my table, and while I haven't used it much yet, I have found it to be quite water resistant (water spilled from my iron, which I need to replace). This purchase has pleased me greatly, and I intend to use it frequently.
I'm a complete novice when it comes to sewing. I've only recently begun quilting and needed to replace a 20-year-old compact ironing board; this product caught my eye as something that might work, and IT DOES AMAZINGLY. It actually helps press the quilt block seams, making it much easier to set the seams than my old ironing board did. br>br>I've only had it for two days, but I'm hoping it will last for years.
