This is a highly recommended book. Until a week ago, I used a 12"x18" cutting mat in my business, but I haven't been able to locate it since then. The theory is that I might have picked it up and delivered it to a customer with a dozen 12" x 18" prints I sell. In any case, I was in need of a cutting mat since I use it so To which end, I went online to both Amazon and manufacturers' websites to look up cutting mats. decided to go with the DAFA mat because of its specifications, reviews, and price. I opted to upgrade to a larger 18"x24" size because I often cut or trim 12"x18" sheets of paper, so wanted some extra space. Cutting is my passion, so I only use utility knives that are sharp. ( I don't use a rotary cutter, so I cannot comment on this. I can tell you this, I just finished cutting using a new utility blade and the mat still looks Both cardstock and cardboard were cut (which required different pressure), and I didn't notice any cuts. There are reviews stating that the mat does not engage in self-cleaning Clearly, he is cutting at a very high pressure This cutting mat cannot be worn under normal use, as I see no way that it can. It is expected that I will use this mat for years to come. Considering the dimensions, it measures 17 11/16 x 24 7/16 inches. There are inches and centimeters on one side, and inch and centimeter markings on the other. Every inch of the area of lines is marked. The combined area is 17" by 23". It does smell like a new car, just as a new car does when it's brand new. As soon as I walk into the room after laying open on the table for a day, I do not detect any odors. The performance of this DAFA mat is in line with what I would expect from a mat twice its price. My original plan was to get another Olfa, but they didn't have the largest size, so I thought I'd try this brand. I like it better than Olfa. Despite its smoothness and strength, it lives up to its name. Having worked with leather, I have abused this leather already with hole punches, needles, rotary cutters, utility knives, and corner blade cutters so far and there are no marks on it. Because it is imperial on one side and metric on the other, I can flip it depending on which project I am working on.

It is wore out from numerous cuts from the cutting wheel that I used to cut and trim pieces for a quilt I am currently working on. The threads stuck in the cuts had to be scraped off, but all in all, I like the thickness, so I will deal with the fact that the seams are not even. Though it may not last as long as healing, I do have two sides to my person. Additionally, the order was delivered on the agreed-upon date.
