It used to be possible to put paper on and then cut it using a cricket machine. Scrapbooking is what I do with it. The letter cutter is available for use only with cricket machines. You can use it to cut letters or embellishments depending on which cricket you have.
Ms. S, the mats you have in hand are both 12 x 12 inches from what I can tell. It would not work because there are registration marks on the Scan and Cut 2, which serve as a guide for the cricut. There are lots of people online who purport to use many different ways to get it to work for the Brother, but I cannot confirm that it works for the I wish you good luck

Selected User Reviews For Cricut FabricGrip Adhesive Cutting Mat 12"x12" - For Cricut Explore Air 2/Cricut Maker - 3 Pack
Neither the green mat nor the paper backing are for paper. Vinyl is what it's for. For paper, the light blue is used. There is no weight to it. It seems to me that this is a copy of the Cricut machine or very close to the original. The first picture is from the Cricut website, and what I received looks identical to that picture. I had no issues with it holding my vinyl and releasing it.
It appears that these are actually made by Provo Craft. The same thing happened when I went to my local craft store and purchased a mat pack. In my opinion, the quality of this product is very poor. This mat does not cut as clean as my old mat does. Although I apologize for my initial review, I still stand by my assertion that the products I reviewed were inferior. Amazon is not to blame for this, however! Amazon, I am so sorry. It is entirely possible that these are not produced It looks as though they're Cricut mats, but they're fakes. In addition to the initial cutting mat layer, there is a layer of paper below it. You scratch the top layer of the mat when you attempt to remove the object you cut out. After one use, the photo was taken. I'm shocked at the quality of these! Get yours from your local craft store if you are willing to spend the extra two bucks!.
Like most Cricut machines and accessories, there is a learning curve to using these. These mats are really awesome once you have mastered your technique (which would only be achieved after watching dozens of YouTube videos and testing). It is also impossible to have too many. There have been times when I was working 15 to 20 hours a day A mat can sometimes measure 20 square feet. It is okay to take off the paper after each cut and reload a new sheet to make your protects, if you will only be using a mat or two. Changing the mats as you go can get tiresome and make cutting your project 199x slower than just switching them out depending on what needs to be done. It is best to buy in bulk if possible. In my experience, having 15 standard mats, 4 light mats, and 4 strong mats covers 99 percent of all mat needs. For 99% of my projects, I do not have to switch out any of the papers in any mat to move forward. The mat can be washed in the bathtub with warm water and dish soap to prevent it from becoming sticky again. Be sure to remember that before you toss out a mat because it is no longer sticky.
I liked the quality, so I bought three of them. In the very first time I used it, I could not clean up my vinyl backing as it did not come up smoothly. The paper tears when it is overly sticky, and the adhesive remains on the paper. To remove it from the mat, you will need to use the weeding tool for 15 minutes to scrape it off. Unfortunately, it is not going to happen. There's no sense in it! It also happened to me when I ordered Cricut Mats from Amazon last year. I received a two-pack of the 24" mats at that time. It was fine the first time, but it was like this the second time. As far as I can tell, these are seconds or defective items that Amazon receives. Here I am returning!.
The grip mats I bought are NOT Cricut brand- I purchased them to replace my other standard grip mat. The grip mats are WAY TOO Having cut this cardstock so that it was almost permanently glued to this mat, I set it down on the mat. I used the same pattern and cardstock as my previous mat (which I bought at JoAnn Fabrics-- I never had a problem with sticky paper, just became less sticky) but I was unable to remove it. Your money will not be wasted.
Subscription items can be purchased for a low price, like this one. Upon receiving the first shipment of mats with flowers on them, they were exactly like the pictures on the website. It is well known that the new mats do not have flowers and that the formula for the mat is much stronger now compared with prior mats. When I received my current shipment, I was disappointed to see that there were no flowers on the mats. My projects have been ruined too many times by the new mat style. It is a good idea to buy the blue mat if you want to make sure that the mat won't ruin your project. The blue mat (which is supposed to be the lightest) is sticky, similar to the green mat.
I love having multiple mats at all times. With a machine that keeps loading and does not need to be weeded in between projects, it's far more efficient. This is what I bought after going through mine for about six months before it started losing stick in some places. Dawn can be used to clean and the clothes can air dry afterwards. As well as the great price, it was also easy to use.
All the things you cut with your Cricut have to be placed on cutting mats. Mats in green colors are far and away the most prevalent. In this package, you will find all three types of mats for 12 x 12 inches. To preserve the sticky properties of the mat, I recommend rotating the paper on the different corners, and using the other mats only when more grip is needed. My Cricut has been my workhorse for the last six months, but after two very intense long cutting sessions, my green mat is pretty worn down, but it can still be used for one more light project before I replace it. I have not yet used the other grip mats that were included This machine makes a good starter for those interested in a Cricut machine. Make sure to keep a number of mats on hand, however.
