This is a very wide bolt of low-profile hardware that I'm very happy to have A variety of soft, lofty batting is available for all sizes of projects. Working with this, I picked up some of the batting fuzz that was shedding from the surface of the material. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this was the case. I had one issue with this, but that was it. It took me a while to figure out what "scrim" was- The scrim coating on the batting will instantly melt onto the iron once it comes into contact with it so I learned to keep my iron away from the scrim side as soon as I received it. (A fine polyester mesh or coating is placed on one side of the fibers to help keep it together. Which is why you can quilt at whatever spacing you like, which is a definite plus as far as I'm concerned. Looking up that information also led to me learning that batting can have a "back" side, as well as needle-felting It's best to stitch the front side of putting batting like this up to reduce bearding and allow the machine needle to penetrate in the same direction as the needle punching. The fact that I have been sewing for years has never occurred to me. It's okay to learn as you go!.
We use only cotton and olefin - 90% cotton and 10% olefin There is a little disappointment in the fact it is being advertised as 100% cotton. As far as I am concerned, it will be sufficient for my purposes.
The material was too light and I had to layer it two times, making it harder to handle.
Very warm, very nice quilts, but not that fluffy (if you are used to a soft quilt you will have to use more than one piece). There was a bright blue bag in which it was shipped, so it would not have been hidden by my mail carrier, so watch out for it if you have mail thieves.
Similarly to Warm and Natural, this batting is made from synthetic fibers. I like the higher stiffness of this batting, which is softer than my usual Hobbs 80/20. This one is easy to use in bolt form and quilts well. Before giving the quilts as gifts, I am planing to wash After laundering, I hope they will become softer and more drapeable.
Having bought this a third time, it has not let me down yet.
There was no way to pass up such a deal. I use the batting for my donation quilts because it is soft, easy to work with, and suitable for the job. The product is definitely worth repurchasing (in fact, I have already done that).
The batting is very nice and I prefer to use it for my quilting.
