Having watched a video on YouTube by "The Print Life," I had to ask my hubby to build It has to be said that these hinges are top-notch. Purchasing a screen printer (usually super expensive compared to this build) is not the only alternative to this. Even though the paint has been all over them, they have held up just fine!.
In our office we frequently use a large (4' x 8') standing/rolling whiteboard. In an effort to free up some space, I decided to stop moving the whiteboard around. To fix this issue, I decided to remove the rolling metal frame from the whiteboard and mount it to the ceiling, allowing it to fold into the ceiling when not needed. In our basement, we don't have a finished ceiling, but you can see the joists that hold up the roof upstairs. These butterfly hinges met with a door flip latch on one side and two of these on the other side. Now that we can fold the whiteboard up against the ceiling when we're not using it, we can store it much easier. We can simply flip it back down when we need it by releasing the latch. Great! Works like a charm!.
I'm sure you've bought things like this in the past that afterwards you can't believe you ever lived The hardware store has a board that has already been cut. I screwed these on, and was amazed at how long it took me to do it. It always takes me a long time to silk screen and I make mistakes every time. With these clamps I can set up my screen much faster and with less mess, which saves me from making Additionally, screen printing is much more enjoyable than offset printing. You need to act (and quickly).
It is terrible. It is not possible to return it and the product is not functioning It didn't occur to me that there was a no return policy before I purchased. A word of caution to the buyer.
It is one of the worst metal castings I've ever seen. It makes the hinges difficult to maneuver. It is a shame that the sprues on the bottom surface were not cleaned up at all (seen in photo 1) because in addition to leaving exposed sharp metal, the sprues prevent the hinge from sitting flush with the bottom! Moreover, the entire hinge piece is extremely warped (see photo 2), as well. My recommendation would be to stay away from.
Buying a large starter kit for silk screening comes with a screen boards that can be hinged together. I found a solution to this problem and made my own hinges out of wood (Go to Lowe's/Home Depot), mounted them to my smallest screen, and now I can hang any screen I want from 24" extra large screens to.
There is a hinge that falls vertically without a frame and so I took off half a star (really just a half star). Despite the presence of a frame, this isn't a big deal. Using the system is easy. It is easy to loosen and tighten thanks to these large wing nuts.
The item I ordered has arrived. In the picture and according to the description, it was exactly what I expected. Fortunately, this pair of clamps feels a lot larger in person than they appear in the picture. In person, they seem much sturdier than they do in the photo. I had expected them to be lighter, but they are heavier than I expected, which means they are of Next week or the week after, I will order a set or two more. The product I am reviewing is a thumbs up!.
