Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use this brayer to apply Versa ink to the raised portion of a dry embossed card in preparation for wet embossing?

Yes, you can use this brayer to apply ink or paint to a dry embossed card.

Collage is something I do. Which roller do you think is better, the soft or the hard?

I frequently use a brayer for this purpose, and I prefer to use a hard brayer because it eliminates the possibility of missing the air pocket. I've never had a problem with my hard brayer when working from the center out to the edges.

Is it better to print with leaves with a hard or soft rubber brayer?

A hard rubber would be able to define more detail in the leaves, whereas a soft rubber might not.

The cylinder of the roller is warped - For a few dollars more, get the deluxe roller
3/5

The cylinder has a significant amount of warp. It's back to square one. br>br>The cross section of the roller is not round, and it is not flat from end to end. When you run across a table, it wobbles like a toddler's rolling toy. The cylinder has a large gap in the center when it is laid flat on a tabletop. The internal cylinder is made up of two molded plastic pieces that don't quite fit together properly. With this brayer, I don't think I'll ever be able to get a uniform coat of ink on the glass or the block.

The ink is easy to apply and remove
5/5

The width (4") is ideal for crafting. I use my brayer to emboss embossing folders after inking it with my inks. It inks evenly if the surface area is thoroughly covered. I'd like to learn how to create gradient backgrounds with this. It's easy to clean with stamp/ink cleaner and a paper towel. This is precisely what I was looking for in terms of crafts. For me, this is the ideal size.

As far as I can tell, it is the best in its class
5/5

I was unable to locate this item in any of the local stores. These are fantastic, particularly because the roller can be removed. Most likely, the pop-culture phenomenon. Although the out feature is useful for cleaning, I prefer to remove the roller and wrap twine or rubber bands around it to roll in ink/paint and create interesting linear features in artwork. It works great, so I bought a second one because the first one became icky due to my failure to properly clean it. It still works in some situations (for example, if I want a textured surface). As a result, I now have one for smooth surfaces as well, which I'm sure was the original intention.

Crafting is a breeze
5/5

It's great for smoothing out flat embellishments that have been glued to cardstock. For a professional look, this is the way to go. Using my fingers or a bone folder was much more difficult for me. It's light, but it's strong and smooth, and it's the perfect size; I've used it a lot, and it's never shown signs of abuse. Please be aware of this product.

Rolling out bubbles is a breeze with this tool
5/5

I have a Cricut machine and use a lot of vinyl and iron-on vinyl in my projects. This device is ideal for removing all of those pesky bubbles and ensuring a clean cut. This is also a great way to smooch together glued items. This is what I keep next to my computer. I highly recommend having one of these if you have a cricut or silhouette machine.

It's a nice roller, but you shouldn't use diaper wipes to clean it
4/5

This is a nice brayer that aids in the adhesion of papers. I haven't tried it with paint yet, but I did contact the company to inquire about cleaning instructions. Mild soap and water, according to the manufacturer, are recommended. If I'm not near a water source, I asked if I can use diaper wipes. It was suggested that I avoid using diaper wipes because the ingredients could cause the rubber roller to break down. That was a disappointment, which is why I only gave it four stars.

A fantastic tool for woodworkers
5/5

I saw another reviewer mention that he uses this roller to spread glue for woodworking projects, so I bought one for the same purpose. The best I've ever used because it evenly applies the right amount of glue, reduces squeeze out, cleans up during and after glue ups, and saves glue. Great size for smaller projects, but not too small for larger ones. It's as good as new after a quick clean with warm water.

With zeal, he completes the task at hand
5/5

Over the last few months, I've put this brayer to the test by doing direct transfers (acrylic on canvas). I was skeptical at first and honestly expected it to be broken by now, but it is still in excellent condition and is one of my favorite tools. The plastic is durable and easy to roll. Since purchasing this, the quality of my transfers has significantly improved, and I would strongly advise anyone to do so.
