When I visited my father's grave, I discovered that his etched photo had faded and the wording had disappeared. One of the guys on the internet recommended this ink to me after I did some research. My dad's stone came back to life after I followed the instructions. This feeling of happiness is extremely pleasant and I hope it lasts as long as people say it will. We did not have to replace a perfectly good stone, but it saved us a lot of money.
Some of the old ship clocks I have have inlaid white letters and numbers on a black dial surface. They date from the WW2 era. In addition to years of being exposed to fingers setting the time, keys slipping out of the winding hole, which scratch the black dial, the black part is also damaged by wear and tear from exposure to the sun and rain. Moreover, some of these 70 plus year old clocks have fading and water damage in the paint. To recoat the black and prevent ink from getting into the engraved areas, I needed a way to protect the white. The dials were then painted with this new ink continuously with the aid of a hard rubber roller. This method worked well for giving them a consistent new surface coating. It only took a couple of days for the ink to dry. From the outside, the dial surface looks a lot worse than it is now.
I purchased this product in order to color in some etch work on glass, but it did not work as expected. I was able to take it In the instructions for this oil-based color paint, glass is not mentioned as a material to use.
The water one is easier to clean, but it does separate just like the water one. Used this one instead of the water one for linoleum block stamping, and it did not separate like the water one.
Why it says what it says.
