When it comes to glass and mirrors, there are a few things to keep in mind

Questions & Answers

Is it possible to etch this on ceramic?

Some

Is it possible to write a name on the bottom of a coffee cup with this method?

Yes, there are some cups.

Is plexiglass going to be etched?

Acrylic or plexiglass should not be used because they are prone to melting. An air eraser or an abrasive, such as sandpaper, were suggested in online responses. You could try leaving the cream on for a short period of time before rinsing it off. Also, avoid rinsing in a ceramic-coated sink because the coating will be removed. God luck.

Selected User Reviews For Armour Etching Cream for Etching Designs in Glass and Mirrors is Safe and Easy to Use (Pkg/1)

When used correctly, it's fantastic
5/5

As a number of other reviews have stated - Do not adhere to the instructions. Look at how other people have used it to great effect on YouTube. Don't use a brush to apply it; the way the cream interacts with the glass determines its final finish, so if you use a brush, you'll see brush strokes. What I found to be effective: I use inexpensive acid brushes from Amazon. It's best to fill your brush by scooping up the cream and slapping it on the glass in a 1/8" thick layer. Once the area you're etching is completely covered, wait a minute before gently moving the cream around with a full brush to ensure no air bubbles are trapped and that it gets into any tight corners of your stencil. I've had good luck leaving it on for about 8 minutes, but when doing multiple glasses, I've left it on for up to 10 minutes. With good results, it only took 12 minutes. After enough time has passed, I simply rinse the cream in a sink with lukewarm water, allowing the water to run for a few moments after I'm finished to ensure that all of the cream has been rinsed from the sink and pipes. Some people say they'll rinse and then repeat the etching process for more consistent results, but I don't believe this is necessary if you use the method outlined above. br>br>Using a fairly open stencil, I've been able to etch 24 shot glasses, 12 Whiskey glasses, and 12 wine glasses, as well as a few practice etches, and I still have over half the bottle left. It only takes a little to make a big difference. br>br>I calculated the cost of having glasses made and discovered that it would have been slightly less expensive than purchasing the glasses, a Brother Design n Cut, stencil vinyl, and etch cream and doing it all myself. Now I have all the equipment and supplies I need to tackle any future project, and it has essentially paid for itself.

To remove the anti-glare film from eyeglasses, use this tool
5/5

It helped me get rid of the anti-virus software. My eye was covered in a glare film. glasses. I wish I had known how to do this years ago because I spent thousands of dollars replacing eye glasses because the anti-glare film peeled in spots and I had to buy new ones because the anti-glare film was peeling and I couldn't see.

Wait! Please don't come back
5/5

If you've received a chunky or thick bottle, place it in a very hot coffee cup of water to send it out. This stuff works; simply apply it to your glass and scrub away any remaining chunkiness with your brush in a circular motion for 2/3 minutes. Continue to swirl it on top of your stencil or whatever you're working on. Allow another 20/30 minutes to pass without being disturbed. br>While the instructions state that you should only leave it on for a few minutes, leaving it on for longer will yield better results. WAIT! Don't toss it in the trash. Save that stuff and put it to good use. Scooping it back up as best you can, then wiping it off of your stencil with your paper towel. Don't let it get on the glass or mirror at all, or it will ruin it no matter how long you wipe it up with the paper towel with high-quality paper. Get it off your glass with high-pressure water and don't let it sit.

It performs admirably

This product did exactly what I expected it to do. I used it on a few more pairs of eyeglass lenses, and they're now completely clear. Directions are very straightforward.

Antiglare Coating on Eyeglasses Can Be Removed With Armour Etching Cream I was underwhelmed by this product's ability to remove the scratched antiglare coating from my eyeglasses

I'm going to try another treatment to see if the YouTube recommendations for using this product in this way are correct.

Scratches were worked on
5/5

My scratched anti-glare coating on my plastic lens was easy to remove. It took less than ten minutes and saved me from having to buy a new, very expensive pair of shoes.

Work is a waste of time
3/5

As directed, applied thickly and evenly to clean glass. I followed the directions and left it for 3 minutes before rinsing it, but nothing happened! I reapplied it and waited two hours. Nothing! Conserve your funds.
